"Farewell from afar, Qingshan is empty", Yan Wu suddenly left Shu, which made Du Fu feel melancholy, in Shu, he lost a close friend with a similar character.
After sending Yan Wu away, Du Fu returned to Chengdu in September, handed over the cottage to his relatives, and he took his wife and children to Zizhou, ready to leave Sichuan.
In the spring of the second year of Guangde (764), Du Fu and his family came to Langzhou to prepare to travel east out of the gorge to Wuchu.
Moreover, Yan Wu also wrote to him, inviting him to return to Chengdu and return to Chengdu, Du Fu couldn't help but be overjoyed, so he changed his itinerary and returned to the cottage in late spring and March.

After leaving the cottage, I often worried that the sandy bank would collapse and the medicine fence would be damaged, and for nearly three years, I was afraid that even the railing by the river would fall into the turbulent water.
I only hate the newly planted pine trees in the cottage, which cannot grow quickly into a thousand feet high, and we should eradicate the evil bamboos that spread everywhere and invade everywhere.
In the future, I will rely on Yan Wu, your old friend, to take care of my aging body, and I will entrust my aging body to the elixir that is said to be able to prolong life.
In the past three years, I have been adrift, physically and mentally exhausted, and I am so thin that I am only skinny and bones.
Analysis:
This poem is sincere, as if it were a common conversation to a friend, thus expressing the poet's joy and longing for a better life at that time.

Du Fu suffered from a variety of diseases, and needed to grow medicine to cure the disease everywhere he went, and in the Huanhua Cottage, he also opened up a large piece of land to grow medicine, called the medicine garden.
"There are many diseases in the public, and medicine must be planted as far as possible, so there is a medicine garden in the cottage, 'planting medicine to help the disease, the sentence", which is also recorded in Wang Sishuang's "Du Zang".
Therefore, this return, Du Fu naturally thought about his medicine garden, for fear that the sand bank would collapse and the river would flood into the garden, washing away the medicine garden and destroying the herbs planted.
"The old wife draws paper for the chess game, and the child knocks the needle for the fishing hook", after the completion of the cottage, there are Yan Wu and others to help, and Du Fu's life in the Huanhua cottage is comfortable and leisurely.
"A new water sill was added for fishing, so the floating chariot was used instead of the boat", for fishing, he installed railings on the riverside and prepared small rafts to replace the boats that entered and exited the river.
And these, as a friend, Yan Wu knows, so Du Fu told him about his worries and concerns, which also shows the deep friendship.
"The new pine hates not to be a thousand feet high, and the evil bamboo should be cut ten thousand poles", the jaw couplet writes about the pine trees and bamboos in the thatched cottage, borrowing things to express his clear position of love and hate.
In the past, when Du Fu left the cottage, he planted four small pines with his own hands, and at that time, they were only three feet high.
The pine is tall and straight, tall and straight, and has a noble character, just like the loyal poet himself, and the reason why he hates evil bamboos is because they are scattered everywhere.
In this poem, "Xinsong" refers to the talented poet himself, hoping that he can make the best use of his talents, and "evil bamboo" refers to the ugly forces in the troubled times.
"Physiology only depends on Huang Ge Lao, and the declining face wants to pay Zijin Dan", the neck couplet echoes the title of the poem, pointing out the purpose of writing this poem for Yan Wu, that is, hoping to get help.
"Physiology" is the livelihood, "Huangge Lao" refers to Yan Wu, the Tang Dynasty Zhongshu, the officials of Menxia Province called "Ge Lao", Yan Wu is called Huangmen Shilang Town Chengdu.
"But there are old people who offer Lu rice, what else do you want for a micro body?", Yan Wu and Du Fu have a deep friendship, and they take great care of him both financially and materially.
And Yan Wu's return this time, without Du Fu's mouth, must be to do his best to help, otherwise, he would not have written to Du Fu to invite him to return to Chengdu Thatched Cottage.
Since then, life has been relied on, and the body has been recuperated, and Du Fu writes about Du Fu's trust in his friends, knowing that he will help him, so he is full of joy.

Du Fu separated from Yan Wu in July of the first year of Baoying (762) and returned to Chengdu Caotang again in March of the second year of Guangde (764), a total of three years.

In March of the second year of Guangde (764), Du Fu returned to the Huanhua Cottage, bamboo shoots, peppers, plums and pine trees were all vibrant.
