At 18:16 on April 24, the command center of the Qiannan Prefecture Fire and Rescue Detachment received a call from the police at the scene to report that a man wanted to jump into the river in Lianjiang River, Nanmen Bridge, Lianjiang Street, Huishui County, and the situation was very critical. After receiving the alarm, the command center of the detachment immediately dispatched the Huishui County Harmony Road Fire and Rescue Station to the scene for rescue.
When the fire and rescue personnel arrived at the scene, the man was very emotional and jumped from the 8-meter-high bridge into the Lianjiang River. After questioning the relevant personnel, it was learned that the man was 29 years old, was in a drunken state, and after quarreling with his wife over trivial matters, he couldn't think of it for a while and decided to jump into the river.
In order to prevent the man from committing excesses again, a fire rescue worker immediately put on a whitewater life jacket and jumped into the river without hesitation, pulling him to the shore and constantly comforting him. The rest of the rescuers drove the kayak close to the man's location and pulled him onto the boat.
After about 24 minutes of intense rescue, the man was escorted ashore by fire and rescue personnel and handed over to the public security organ for follow-up processing.
