In late autumn and September, the osmanthus flowers are fragrant, the sky is high and the clouds are light, and the sky is clear. Hangzhou, south of the Yangtze River, is still feeling a little hot. On the morning of September 20, we accompanied the guests who had come all the way from Jinan for many years to visit the Lingyin Temple, a thousand-year-old temple, and the neighboring Yongfu Temple and Taoguang Temple.
Lingyin Temple is located in the northwest corner of the West Lake Scenic Area, where the peaks and mountains are beautiful, the streams and springs are clear, and the ancient trees are towering to the sky. There are many historical sites, cave scenes, and stone carvings, and it is known as the southeast Buddhist country.
Lingyin Temple was built in the first year of Xianhe in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (326 AD). It was built by the Indian monk Hui Li. The building is majestic and magnificent, and it is one of the ten famous Zen temples in the mainland. The temple has the Tianwang Palace, the Daxiong Treasure Hall, the Medicine Master Hall, the Huayan Hall, the Five Hundred Arhat Hall and the Tibetan Scripture Building. It is a national key cultural relics protection unit.
Lingyin Temple in front of the flying peak, also known as the Vulture Peak, the founding temple monk Hui Li once climbed this mountain and said: "This is the small peak of the Tianzhu Eagle Mountain, I don't know what year to fly?"
In the thirty-eighth year of Kangxi, the imperial pen cliff inscribed the three big characters of "Feilai Peak". This peak is majestic and strange, and Zhong Lingyu is beautiful. There are a total of 345 well-preserved, different shapes and exquisite stone carvings in the main cave and on the south bank of Lengquan Creek.
There are many beautiful legends in Lingyin Temple, such as: Jigong bed, Jigong handprint, Jigong hat, a line of sky, Hu Ape Cave and so on. In addition, in the towering ancient forest, there are also beautiful scenery such as cold springs, thunder, Longhong cave, jade milk cave, and Ligong Tower. There are also Yongfu Temple, Taoguang Temple, and Sansanzhu Temple nearby. The history is long, the architecture is strange, and it is unforgettable.
