According to the report of the Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision, from 2017 to 2022, Wu Zeqin successively accepted gifts totaling 630,000 yuan from many private business owners. Wu Zeqin also had other serious violations of discipline and law, was expelled from the party, expelled from public office, and was transferred to the procuratorate for review and prosecution in accordance with the law on suspicion of crimes.
Wu Zeqin, male, Han nationality, born in March 1970, from Longmen, Guangdong, on-the-job postgraduate degree, joined the work in July 1991, joined the Communist Party of China in July 1993, and served as the secretary of the Huidong County Party Committee of Huizhou City for nearly a year before being "double-opened".

On August 25, 2023, the Standing Committee of the Huizhou Municipal People's Congress issued an announcement stating that the Standing Committee of the Huidong County People's Congress decided to accept Wu Zeqin's resignation as a deputy to the 13th Huizhou Municipal People's Congress. On August 28, 2023, the official WeChat account of the Guangdong Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision "Nanyue Qingfeng" announced that Wu Zeqin, secretary of the Huidong County Party Committee of Huizhou City, Guangdong Province, is suspected of serious violations of discipline and law, and is currently undergoing disciplinary review and supervision investigation by the Guangdong Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision.
On October 11, 2023, "Nanyue Qingfeng" reported that Wu Zeqin, former secretary of the Huidong County Party Committee of Huizhou City, Guangdong Province, was expelled from the party and public office for serious violations of discipline and law.
According to the "Nanyue Qingfeng" circular, after investigation, Wu Zeqin lost his ideals and convictions, betrayed his original aspiration and mission, ignored the spirit of the eight central regulations, accepted gifts in violation of regulations, and used his authority to arrange for others to pay expenses that should be paid by himself; violated organizational principles, concealed and failed to report relevant personal matters; engaged in profit-making activities in violation of regulations while also being an official and a businessman; violated the bottom line of discipline and law, inflated his selfish desires, and took advantage of his position to seek benefits for others in the contracting of projects and the allocation of project funds, and illegally accepted huge sums of money.
According to the report, Wu Zeqin seriously violated the party's organizational discipline and integrity discipline, constituting a serious violation of duty and suspected of accepting bribes. After a meeting of the Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and a report to the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee for approval, it was decided to expel Wu Zeqin from the party; the Guangdong Provincial Supervision Commission will give him the sanction of dismissal from public office; terminate his qualifications as a deputy to the 12 th Party Congress of Huizhou City; confiscate his disciplinary and illegal gains; transfer his suspected crimes to the procuratorial organs for examination and prosecution according to law, and transfer the property involved together.

Wu Zeqin, a native of Longmen County, Huizhou, worked in the Longmen County Police Department from July 1991 to November 2000. In 2002, he served as the deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Mazhu Town, Longmen County, and in 2016, he served as the chairman of the CPPCC and the secretary of the party group of Longmen County, and worked in Longmen County for 25 years.

Since December 2020, Wu Zeqin has served as Deputy Secretary-General of Huizhou Municipal Government of Guangdong Province, Director of Huizhou Municipal Garden Affairs Center, Chairman and Secretary of the Party Committee of Huizhou Urban Construction Investment Group Co., Ltd., and since August 2021, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of Huizhou Urban and Rural Management and Comprehensive Law Enforcement Bureau, and Chairman and Secretary of the Party Committee of Huizhou Urban Construction Investment Group Co., Ltd.
In August 2022, Wu Zeqin served as the secretary of the Huidong County Party Committee of Huizhou City until August 28, 2023.
