The United States has a clear brain circuit, and it is simply out of the ordinary to pull China to help sanction China

author:Aspen Observation Room

At present, the double standards and hegemonism of the United States and Western countries have once again been exposed: Israel's excessive retaliation and attacks on Gaza have led to a serious humanitarian crisis, but the United States and Western countries have not only failed to impose sanctions on it, but have vigorously supported it, especially the United States, which has frequently vetoed the ceasefire resolutions of the United Nations Security Council.

Not so long ago, Israel carried out an air strike on the Iranian embassy in Syria, while the United States and Western countries chose to remain silent. But when Iran retaliated against Israel, the United States and Western countries immediately united to impose sanctions on Iran, regardless of whether Iran was defending itself or notifying the United States and other countries in advance, as long as it was against Israel, they would take retaliatory measures.

More crucially, the United States also wants China's help to help the United States sanction China itself, yes, you read that right, you said that they were kicked in the head by a donkey, it's really brain-opening.

In the past few days, the United States has announced that it will launch a new round of sanctions against Iran to restrict Iran's oil exports, and the United States will not only pull in the G7 countries but also China as well. What is even more ridiculous is that the United States also issued an emergency bill at about the same time, which clearly stipulates that Chinese financial institutions are not allowed to buy Iranian oil, and if they are found to have violated the rules, they will be immediately excluded from the global dollar system.

It's like you buy something at the school gate, and its competitors jump out and warn you that if you buy again, it will limit your ability to pay online, do you think this approach is reasonable?

At present, the situation in the Middle East is in everyone's eyes, and Israel's influence in the United States is gradually weakening, but the United States does not want to antagonize the whole world and does not want to become Israel's pawn. Therefore, in the event that the Israeli problem cannot be resolved, the only way to relieve pressure is to threaten Iran.

Iran has long suffered from US sanctions, economic difficulties, and one of its main sources of income is oil exports. If Iran's oil exports can be blocked, Iran will face even more pressure. And the main financier of Iranian oil is China.

In 2021, we signed a 25-year comprehensive cooperation agreement with Iran for the sake of national energy security. According to the agreement, we will buy Iranian oil directly in yuan, and Iran can also buy Chinese goods in yuan.

According to the data I have checked, we have bought a lot of oil from Iran since the United States imposed sanctions on Iran, and it is not an exaggeration to say that we have bought most of the oil exported by Iran over the years. Therefore, it is understandable why the United States is in a hurry to impose sanctions on us, because Iran can no longer impose sanctions and can only turn to us.

For China, Iran is a stable supplier of energy and a vast market for the sale of industrial products. For Iran, China is the only supplier of advanced industrial products such as global satellite navigation systems and advanced semiconductor components. The relationship between the two sides is inseparable, just like a talented woman, a natural pair, is it your turn to oppose the monster?

Therefore, this method of the United States is not easy for us to use at all. First, our country is independent, the long-arm jurisdiction of the United States cannot touch us, and we are the world's largest trading power, with which the vast majority of countries in the world trade. If the United States imposes sanctions on our financial institutions, it will be equivalent to indirectly sanctioning most countries, and then the question will no longer be whether the dollar system will accept us, but that countries will inevitably bypass the dollar settlement system, re-establish the financial settlement system, and use the euro or yuan for transactions to ensure the smooth flow of trade with China. At that point, the United States will regret it.

Second, according to outside sources, most of the oil trade with Iran is not large financial institutions, but some small and medium-sized institutions rooted in China. This means that these institutions have no intention of entering the international market at all, and if they are not allowed to settle in dollars, they will directly use the yuan. It's like if you've been in China all your life, and not knowing English is not a big problem.

In short, the United States wants to pull China together to impose a blockade on Iran, but China has no reason to do so. Under international law, trade should be carried out freely, and that is our argument against them. However, the United States is not reasonable, and if we continue to trade with Iran, they may take more drastic measures to put more Chinese companies related to Iran on a "blacklist" for sanctions. Nevertheless, we will not be afraid to stop trade with Iran, but we will also call on other countries to join us in defending Iran's rights.
