Spring is the peak period of livestock parasite breeding, but also the "golden period" of sheep medicated bath sterilization, in order to ensure the health of livestock, to ensure the income of farmers and herdsmen, recently, Yanqi County Animal Husbandry Bureau actively organized village-level animal epidemic prevention personnel to carry out medicated bath work on sheep to ensure the healthy development of animal husbandry.
On April 25, at the medicinal bathing point in Bajiahu Village, Beidaqu Township, villagers Ailimujiang and Nurmaimat drove their sheep to take a medicinal bath. In order to ensure the effect of the medicated bath, the village-level epidemic prevention officers on both sides of the medicated bath, holding tools to control the forward speed of the sheep and ensure that the coverage of the medicated bath reaches 100%, and a total of more than 1,400 medicated bath sheep this time. Seeing that their sheep completed the medicinal bath safely, quickly and effectively, they became more confident in the development of the breeding industry.
It is reported that sheep ectoparasites are harmful, often causing symptoms such as itching, anemia, emaciation, and hair loss in sheep, which brings great losses to animal husbandry production. The medicated bath can not only eliminate ectoparasitic diseases and prevent scabies in sheep, but also play a role in sterilization and disinfection, wash off the dirt on the sheep, and promote the growth and development of the sheep.
Up to now, the county has completed more than 10,000 sheep medicated baths, and it is planned that by the end of May, the coverage of sheep medicated baths will basically reach 100%. (He Xudong)
