Dengue fever is an acute infectious disease caused by dengue virus and transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes. Clinical symptoms include sudden fever, generalized muscle, bone, and joint pain, extreme fatigue, rash, lymphadenopathy, and leukopenia.
In mainland China, dengue fever has the typical characteristics of imported and sudden, and at the same time, it has the characteristics of rapid transmission, high incidence, general susceptibility of the population, and high risk of death in a few severe cases.
Beware of these two "flower mosquitoes"
The vectors of dengue fever on the mainland are Aedes albopictus and Aedes aegypti, commonly known as "flower mosquitoes".
Aedes albopictus
Aedes albopictus mosquitoes are distributed in a vast area from Hainan Island in the south, to central and southern Liaoning in the north, to Baoji in Shaanxi Province and southern Tibet in the west.
Aedes albopictus is almost the same as people's activity time, and the peak time for bites is around sunrise and before sunset.
Aedes albopictus larvae prefer clean water, and tree holes, stone holes, stagnant water tires, discarded bowls and boxes, bottles and jars for storing water, and leaf axils of clumps of plants in the community are all breeding grounds for their offspring.
Aedes aegypti
Aedes aegypti is mainly distributed in coastal cities and counties of Hainan Province and volcanic rock areas, Leizhou Peninsula of Guangdong Province, and border areas of Yunnan Province.
Aedes aegypti mosquitoes actively suck blood throughout the day, except for the peak of their bites in the morning and near dusk.
Compared with Aedes albopictus, Aedes aegypti is more "close" to humans and is a typical "house mosquito". They mainly inhabit indoor and outdoor sheltered and shady places, such as the foot of the water tank, behind the cupboard, under the bed in the bedroom, the corner of the wall, the mosquito net and the hidden place in the courtyard.
Strengthen environmental transformation and governance
1. Sealing
Cover the water tank, seal the sewer sand well, install mosquito prevention devices, and seal the utensils with water.
2. Fill in
Fill in potholes, waste ponds, ditches, bamboo holes, tree holes, etc., to prevent water accumulation.
3. Sparse
Dredging ditches, shore silt and weeds, etc.
4. Platoon
Drain away stagnant water.
5. Clear
Remove containers that are easy to store garbage, such as plastic film bags, discarded bottles or cans.
Pay attention to mosquito prevention and mosquito control at home
1. Turn over pots and cans to clean up all kinds of useless stagnant water in and around the house.
2. Keep the home and the surrounding environment hygienic and tidy, and remove all kinds of sanitary dead corners and garbage.
3. Drinking water containers for people and animals or other useful water containers should be changed thoroughly once every 5~7 days.
4. Reduce the planting of aquatic plants at home, and change the water thoroughly once every 5~7 days in the containers that have been planted.
5. The landscape water body around the house can be stocked with ornamental fish or local species of mosquito-eating fish.
6. Tires should be stored indoors or in a rain-sheltered place, and should be tightly covered with a rainproof cloth when stacked outside. Outdoor waste tires are perforated to prevent water storage, and tires that are difficult to remove stagnant water can be used to kill larval mosquitoes with dithionphos and S-dimethobin.
7. For the vegetation in the environment around the home, the adult Aedes mosquitoes can be killed with sensitive public health insecticides.
