But in the past, when there were still loopholes in the regulatory system, there were companies that carried out things that hurt nature and reason in the name of curing diseases, and "Gentian Liver Pills" is one of the vivid examples.
A long-selling Chinese medicine formula can actually lead to uremia? And with such a serious consequence, only one media reporter stood up to speak out?
1. Strange symptoms

At the recommendation of his colleagues, he tried to take some "Gentian Liver Pills" from the unit to eat, but he did not expect that the medicine would cure the disease! He had never experienced such a refreshing mental condition.
Therefore, the host Zhang Jiarui fell in love with the "Gentian Liver Pill" completely, and as soon as there was a sign of fire, he quickly ate some "Gentian Liver Pill", and in the next half a year, he never got on fire again.
But while taking this medicine, he felt that his body was getting weaker and weaker, not only was he a little weak, but he even urinated blood once!
In a hurry, he immediately went to the hospital for treatment, but unexpectedly heard a shocking thunderclap - he was diagnosed with uremia!
In fact, at this time, Lao Zhang was not the first patient to be diagnosed with uremia, before him, there was a professor named Ma Wenzu in Tsinghua University who was also poisoned by the "Gentian Liver Pill", and even the doctor shook his head helplessly as soon as he heard that there were latecomers who had eaten the "Gentian Liver Pill".

Among the "Gentian Liver Pills" sold today, there is a medicinal herb that belongs to the Aristolochiaceae family, and it is also the real culprit that caused Lao Zhang and others to suffer from uremia - Guan Mutong.
In addition, as early as 2002, the State Food and Drug Administration said that it needed attention, and also notified major pharmaceutical companies, requiring all practitioners to pay attention to its damage to the kidneys.
It's a pity that from the beginning to the end, this information seems to have been ignored, all in all, Zhu Yu didn't see any signs on the "Gentian Liver Pill" that may cause kidney damage.
The ins and outs of the matter are almost clear, in the final analysis, this is a man-made disaster, not the so-called natural disaster, if everything is done according to the norms, maybe there will be no group of people like Lao Zhang who are tortured by illness day and night.
Therefore, once the article was published, it attracted wide attention from all walks of life, and many people were panicked and did not dare to take Chinese medicine anymore, especially the traditional Chinese medicine containing Mutong, and the sales of traditional Chinese medicine in major pharmacies at that time plummeted.
This is also a natural thing, if you don't indicate the harm, even if the Meiji is harmful and still sells, how can you let the people eat at ease?
Because of this, Zhu Yu herself is under pressure, in the final analysis, she is just a powerless reporter, how can she fight against some giant pharmaceutical companies?
Every day, Zhu Yu receives all kinds of threats, including death threats, and strange people seem to wander around her premises every day, sometimes her car can't start, and sometimes her home wall is splashed with paint......
All this did not break the will of reporter Zhu Yu, she insisted on telling the truth and telling the truth, and she must not let these pharmaceutical companies continue to harm others.

All in all, with the concerted efforts of the whole country, on April 1, the Food and Drug Administration announced the ban on all medicinal materials containing Mutong.
Zhu Yu finally won the victory she wanted, but her efforts for this were not limited to this, in the following days, she also often paid attention to this matter and dug out a lot of insiders.
It turns out that Guan Mutong is not the original ingredient of "Gentian Liver Pill", and it is clearly written in the original recipe, the ingredient is called Mutong, which is a non-toxic and harmless material.
However, since the beginning of the last century, in order to make money, unscrupulous merchants have replaced Mutong with the harmful but less costly Guan Mutong to increase their profits.
Even after being reminded by the Food and Drug Administration in 2002, it still did not make corrections, which eventually caused such a tragedy to occur.
At this point, the "Gentian Liver Pill" incident has come to an end, but Zhu Yu's life as a reporter still has a long way to go.
