In 1994, Wang Lihong bravely bid farewell to the comfortable and privileged life in Beijing, followed her beloved husband Suma, and returned to his beautiful and poor hometown Uganda without hesitation.
The moment she walked out of the sacred gate of the airport, she felt a deep sense of loss and trepidation.
Uganda's scorching temperatures were painful, but the dust flying everywhere, the desolate streets, and the ragged chasing children all made her question the wisdom of her choice.
However, Wang Lihong was not knocked down by the predicament in front of her. She firmly believes that only by improving local education can the future of the country be truly changed.
So, with the full support of her husband, Wang Lihong decided to start a brand new school to nurture more outstanding talents for this barren land.
In the arduous entrepreneurial process, Wang Lihong encountered countless challenges. The first is the severe shortage of teachers. Africans have traditionally been more casual about time, and teachers are often late or even absent without reason.
In order to solve this problem, Wang Lihong has developed a strict attendance system and personally studied the relevant laws and regulations of Uganda to ensure the normal operation of the school.
In addition to the lack of teachers, the students' enthusiasm for learning also made Wang Lihong feel troubled. When she took over the school, truancy and absenteeism were widespread among students, which left parents indifferent.
In the face of this situation, Wang Lihong was merciless and decisively expelled those students who could not be saved, but for those children who still had hope, she never gave up, patiently guided them, and hoped to stimulate their enthusiasm for learning.
Through Wang Lihong's unremitting efforts, the appearance of "Lu Yangzi Middle School" is changing with each passing day. What were once dilapidated classrooms and dormitories are now thriving.
The brand-new desks and chairs, and the sturdy campus walls all tell the story of Wang Lihong's meticulous care for the school, and although a dormitory was originally crowded with 30 students, the living conditions have been greatly improved.
At the same time, Wang Lihong is also actively seeking opportunities to cooperate with the Ministry of Education, hoping to bring Chinese language knowledge to the local area. In the end, the school became the only secondary school institution in Uganda that focused on Chinese education, which attracted enthusiastic attention from all walks of life.
Soon after, as the Confucius Institute took root in Uganda, Luyangzi High School worked closely with the Confucius Institute to promote local students' in-depth understanding and proficiency in Chinese and Chinese cultures.
In this process, although Ms. Wang Lihong has faced countless hardships and challenges, she has never flinched. With its rigorous teaching team management and advanced teaching concepts, Lu Yangzi Secondary School has established a reputation for excellence in the local area, and Wang Lihong, known as the "Principal of the African King", has also been warmly praised by the Ministry of Education of Uganda.
Back in 1968, Wang Lihong was born in the bustling capital of Beijing, with a privileged family. Growing up in a strict tutoring environment since childhood, Wang Lihong has emerged with her outstanding learning talent, and has always maintained the first place in her grade in her studies.
Because of her talent, she successfully entered Tsinghua University, a top university, where she achieved remarkable results and obtained the qualification to study for a master's degree.
Time flies, and in 1990, the Tsinghua campus ushered in a major event, and the beautiful figure and vivid and interesting words of the special guest Wang Lihong deeply touched the heart of Suma, a young Ugandan youth at the scene.
Suma's admiration for this talented woman from Tsinghua came naturally, so he seized every possible opportunity to get close to her. After many attempts, Suma finally got her wish and established a deep friendship with Wang Lihong.
However, in the face of this exotic love affair that transcends borders, ages and cultural backgrounds, Wang Lihong, a student at Tsinghua University, did not have much expectations at first.
However, Suma is a man of perseverance.
Through frequent contact and in-depth exchanges with Wang Lihong, he gradually walked into the soft corner of the heart of this talented and beautiful woman with his sincerity and kindness.
In the end, in the midst of everyone's doubts and opposition, Wang Lihong made a firm choice and went to the sacred hall of marriage with Suma. In 1996, the newlyweds embarked on a journey to Uganda.
The moment they stepped out of the airport gate, Wang Lihong's heart was full of panic and uneasiness. The blazing climate, rugged mountain roads, flying dust, and children in shabby clothes running and playing barefoot all shocked this talented woman from Tsinghua University, who had never been far from her homeland.
Even though she had made full preparations before leaving, after experiencing it herself, Wang Lihong still felt a little regretful in her heart, and chose to stay in the bustling city of Beijing after failing to follow her parents' advice.
However, now that the wood is in the boat, she can only try her best to accept the reality in front of her.
When she set foot in Suma's hometown, Wang Lihong was even more shocked to find that all the women here were called "mothers". When she learned that her husband's father had as many as ten wives, she couldn't help but have a shocked look on her face.
However, Suma immediately solemnly assured Wang Lihong that he would regard her as his only love. In the face of this brand-new big family, Wang Lihong has indeed made great efforts to adapt.
As a person who was born with a weak ability to recognize faces, she was finally able to clearly recognize the name and appearance characteristics of each "mother" in just one month.
At the same time, the difference in eating habits also brought great trouble to Wang Lihong. As a native of Beijing, she never imagined that bananas could become a staple food in her daily life.
In order to enjoy a rich and delicious dinner, the woman, who had never set foot in the kitchen, had to teach herself cooking skills at home and ask the local "mothers" for advice.
In this way, under the meticulous care and respect of her husband, Wang Lihong gradually integrated into African life. In the days that followed, she conceived three boys and a girl for her husband.
Although her last child, Fahetti, died at the age of four, Wang Lihong's heart was once in deep grief, but with the encouragement and support of her husband and family, she finally came out of the shadows.
As a professional focusing on the field of medical drug sales, Wang Lihong has never been able to understand why her precious son left the world at such a young age.
This incident made her deeply aware of the urgent need to improve the health situation in poor areas of Africa. Therefore, she is determined to bring more hope to the children of this land.
It was this tragedy that inspired Wang Lihong's deep determination to devote herself to improving the educational environment in Africa. She is well aware that the poor level of education is one of the main causes of poverty in the local area.
With the selfless and unwavering support of her husband, Ms. Wang Lihong successfully found a school in urgent need of help, took over and managed it in an orderly manner.
However, to her surprise, the former principal wantonly embezzled public funds, making the already difficult school even worse!
In order to do their best to help these children, Wang Lihong and his wife decided to use all their savings to pay for the students' tuition fees and daily necessities.
On the road of making every effort to improve the teaching environment, Ms. Wang Lihong can be said to do her best without reservation.
She is full of enthusiasm that through the learning and growth of these children during their time at the school, they will eventually be able to become useful pillars of society.
At the same time, Ms. Wang Lihong is also actively seeking cooperation opportunities with the local Ministry of Education to teach children about Chinese culture.
After unremitting efforts, the school has finally become the only secondary school institution in Uganda that focuses on Chinese education, which has aroused enthusiastic responses from all walks of life.
Subsequently, with the further development of the Confucius Institute in the local area, the school has also established a close cooperative relationship with the Confucius Institute to jointly promote the in-depth understanding and proficiency of local students in Chinese and Chinese culture.
As a result, the school has earned the reputation of "Luyangzi Middle School".
However, in the process, Ms. Wang Lihong also encountered numerous thorny problems. The first is the shortage of teachers. Africans have a more relaxed sense of time, and teachers are often late or even absent.
In response to this problem, Ms. Wang Lihong took decisive measures, formulated a strict attendance system, and personally studied relevant laws and regulations to ensure the normal operation of the school.
The most challenging task is undoubtedly how to guide and stimulate children's interest in learning. When she took over the school, there was hardly a single good seedling growing here, and students were truant and absent from school.
In the face of such a predicament, Ms. Wang Lihong did not hesitate to expel those students who could not be saved, but for those children who still had hope, she always stuck to her post, patiently guided, and hoped to awaken their deep enthusiasm for learning.
Over the years, Ms. Wang Lihong has been committed to improving education in Uganda. Her hard work and outstanding contributions have gradually won wide praise and high recognition from all walks of life.
Especially in Africa, where the status of women is relatively low, Wang Lihong has successfully won the incomparable respect of the local people with her outstanding leadership and unwavering faith.
Back in 2017, Ms. Wang Lihong received a prestigious award from the Ministry of Education of Uganda for her outstanding achievements in education. This "African principal", who is loved by local residents, has not only been highly recognized by the government, but also attracted the attention of CCTV, which has produced a number of special reports to pay tribute to him.
For Wang Lihong, these honors are the most appropriate interpretation of her years of hard work. From a talented woman in Tsinghua Park to a pioneer in founding a school and innovating education in a foreign land, her life journey is legendary.
Back then, Wang Lihong bravely chose to go to Africa and started a new journey full of unknowns with her husband Suma. Faced with a new environment and culture, she did encounter many difficulties and obstacles.
From the harsh climate that was difficult to adapt to, to the complicated family relationships, to the unfamiliar eating habits, all the difficulties made this talented Tsinghua woman from Beijing feel troubled and frightened.
However, it was with her tenacious willpower and deep love for her husband that Wang Lihong finally overcame many difficulties and successfully integrated into local life.
In the following days, she successively conceived three sons and a daughter for her husband, and the whole family was harmonious and happy, which was enviable.
However, the ruthlessness of fate once plunged Wang Lihong into endless grief. When her youngest son, Fahdi, died of malaria at the age of four, she was devastated and could not bear the harsh reality for a time.
Fortunately, with the company and support of her husband and family, she finally recovered from the abyss of grief.
