Since the beginning of this year, the Hubei Provincial Department of Transportation has evaluated the effectiveness of the construction of "four good rural roads" in the first quarter of each county (city and district) according to the completion of rural road construction and the quality and efficiency of rural road-related daily work. After evaluation, among the 78 counties (cities and districts), 21 counties (cities and districts) such as Xiaochang were rated as excellent.
The evaluation objects of the "Four Good Rural Roads" are 78 counties (cities and districts), which are divided into three categories with reference to the comprehensive evaluation and classification system of high-quality economic development at the county level and the differences in main functions. Among them, 30 are counties (cities and districts) in the third category, which are national key ecological function areas with restricted development areas.

Start with a sprint, and start a new game with hard work. In the past year, Xiaochang County Rural Highway Administration has closely focused on the goal of "building, managing, protecting and operating", making in-depth planning, paying close attention to quality, continuously improving the function of rural road network, and striving to create a new situation for rural roads.
Good construction: 126 kilometers of rural roads were completed in the first quarter, accounting for 53% of the annual plan.
Good maintenance: Complete the daily maintenance of all county roads and important rural roads in spring, with a total mileage of nearly 300 kilometers.
Good management: The reconstruction and security projects of dangerous bridges on rural roads have been steadily promoted, 3 dangerous bridge reconstruction projects have started construction, and 4 have completed the preliminary preparations for the projects.
Create well: further accelerate the pace of demonstration and creation of "four good rural roads", increase investment in accordance with the creation standards, and ensure the success of the creation.
In recent years, Xiaochang has insisted on building roads for the people, coordinated the promotion of regional transportation, urban and rural transportation, and comprehensive transportation integration construction, opened up external channels, smoothed internal circulation, accelerated the upgrading and transformation of national and provincial trunk lines, comprehensively improved the construction level of rural roads, gradually improved the transportation service system, and made every effort to create a "Chang'anshumei" road environment to boost the high-quality development of the county economy.
In 2021, Xiaochang County was selected as a national demonstration county of "Four Good Rural Roads". In 2023, it was awarded the title of "Top 10" collective in the province's rural road maintenance and evaluation work.
