Today (April 26), Asia's first cylindrical "offshore oil and gas processing plant" independently designed and built by the mainland, "Haikui No. 1", was completed in Qingdao, Shandong Province, marking a major breakthrough in the key technology of the mainland's independent construction of deepwater oil and gas equipment.

"Haikui-1" is a high-end marine equipment integrating crude oil production, storage, export and other functions, including two parts of the hull and the upper functional module, composed of nearly 600,000 parts, designed according to the 100-year super typhoon working conditions, with a design displacement of 100,000 tons, a maximum oil storage capacity of 60,000 tons, a design life of 30 years, and can run continuously at sea for 15 years without returning to the dock. Due to the complex production process and the high degree of integration of equipment and facilities, it poses great challenges to engineering construction.

It is reported that after the completion of the "Haikui No. 1" will be applied to the Liuhua Oilfield in the Pearl River Estuary Basin of the mainland, with an operating water depth of about 324 meters and a daily processing capacity of about 5,600 tons of crude oil. The oilfield pioneered a new development model of "more than 300 meters deepwater jacket + cylindrical floating production, storage and offloading device" in China, providing a new choice for the efficient development of deepwater oil and gas fields in mainland China.
