This so-called "dragon slaying squad" had planted bombs in Wan Chai during the black riots and had ambushed gunmen in an attempt to ambush police officers and the public; if this earth-shattering killing machine had not been quickly cracked by the Hong Kong police on the eve of its implementation, the consequences would have been unimaginable! During the two-day trial on 23 April and 24 April, astonishing details of the case were revealed, and the explosives they placed were extremely powerful, with a radius of 400 meters of damage! There was also a "dragon slaying dragon" The chat log revealed that members of the gunman went to Sai Kung Hill to test the gun under the pretext of climbing a mountain, and some members had gone to the laboratories of HKBU and CityU to steal raw materials to make bombs...... , and other revelations are simply shocking, and the case is still being tried.
On April 23, the "Dragon Slayer Squad case" was heard in the High Court of Hong Kong. Cheung Chun-fu (23), Cheung Ming-yu (21), Yim Man-him (22), Lee Ka-tin (25), Lai Chun-pong (30), Hui Cham-wing (25) and Lau Pui-ying (24, female) 7 members, of which 6 male defendants were charged with explosion and murder. The female defendant, Liu Pui-ning, was charged with one count of conspiracy to provide or collect property for the purpose of committing a terrorist act.
The court heard that on 8 December 2019, the "Dragon Slayer Squad" took advantage of the illegal march of the disruptive Hong Kong group to place two bombs, one large and one small, on the course of the procession, in which the small bomb was used to lure the Hong Kong police to the scene, and after detonating the small bomb, the police were forced to retreat to the location of the large bomb, and then the large bomb was detonated to kill and injure the police personnel.
According to the inspection of arms experts, the two bombs weighed 2 kilograms and 8 kilograms respectively, and each of the bombs contained a mobile phone, and the bombs could be controlled remotely. According to the prosecution, everything was ready at the time: "A phone call goes into a bomb and it goes off". According to the defendant's chat records, when the Hong Kong police were attacked, the conspirators would all shoot with guns.
The trial also showed that there was evidence that members of the "dragon slaying squad" also went to Taichung to receive military training, and Wu Zhihong also went to the remote mountains of Saigon to test his guns in the name of climbing mountains after receiving training.
Yesterday (April 24), in the resumption of the trial of the "Dragon Slayer Squad Case", prosecution barrister Zhou Kailing said that from the mobile phone of Huang Zhenqiang, who played a leading role, he extracted a Telegram conversation with Wu Zhihong, showing that Wu transmitted three videos of shooting into the grass on November 17. There are also chat logs showing that they also discussed going to HKBU to find raw materials to make bombs.
In addition to the so-called "Dragon Slaying Squad", its members also joined the so-called "Dragon Slaying Squad" that branched out, including Huang Zhenqiang, defendants Zhang Junfu, Zhang Mingyu, Li Jiatian and Yan Wenqian.
According to Wong Chun-keung's mobile phone message, on 14 November 2019, a group talked about the conversation between HKBU and CityU: "Fire magic has to wait for the dragon to be slain", and the prosecution pointed out that "fire magic" is a petrol bomb.
The prosecution also aired a video of the "Dragon Slayer Squad" attempting to use a detonator, showing the detonator that was detonating the bomb. The evidence showed that the filming took place at the back staircase of the office of the other defendant, Lai Chun-pong, and that the bomb seized by the police later used the same detonator in the video.
In addition, according to the prosecution, earlier on the day of the 12.8 procession, the gunman So Weixuan would shoot at a height, and a map of evidence was displayed in court, believing that the defendant had drawn up an escape route, and the chat records also showed that the vehicle would drive to a place in Clear Water Bay, and then burn the car. In addition, the surveillance photographed Wu Zhihong buying red and blue shau kei at a furniture store in North Point and Fu Dao, and went to Wah Yan to complete the assembly of the bomb on the same day as Peng Junhao. On the map sent by Wu Zhihong to Huang Zhenqiang, two bomb locations were marked in red and blue, and the location of the gunman was in green. The chat records of Huang Zhenqiang and Wu Zhihong also show that Wu quoted Su Weixuan as saying to Huang that "the first wave wants to kill as many as possible, and there are a few more kills".
In the early hours of 8 December, the "Dragon Slayer Squad" appeared at the address of Zhan Hung Building in Wan Chai as planned, and the Hong Kong Police arrested Cheung Ming-yu, Yim Man-him and Wong Chun-keung there. After Zhang Junfu was arrested, a key to the Tsuen Wan warehouse was found on him, and there were fireworks and firecrackers and other items in the warehouse, and a pistol was found in the grass at Wu Zhihong's house and in the grass at Davis Height.
The prosecution emphasised that the conspiracy charge does not require the actual completion of the offence and is punishable by a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.
