Li Guangsu was born in July 1987 in Wangmengzhuang Natural Village, Zhongzha Village, Huzhai Town, Pei County, Jiangsu Province, his mother Xu Guilan is from Hebei, and his father Li Houlin is from Jiangsu, both of whom are farmers.

After graduating from junior high school, Li Guangsu was admitted to Huxi Middle School in Peixian County with excellent results, he liked to read aerospace books, and had the dream of becoming a pilot in his sophomore year of high school.

In 2006, when Li Guangsu was in his third year of high school, the news of the Air Force recruiting pilots spread in the school, and Li Guangsu and many classmates signed up for the exam.
After a rigorous selection process, Li Guangsu was fortunate to be admitted to the Air Force Aviation University in Changchun.

Li Guangsu is a liberal arts student, and it is very difficult to study science and engineering courses, and those formulas and symbols seem to him to be alien words.
Li Guangsu refused to admit defeat and studied very hard and tired. He was anxious and insomnia, and his mouth was full of blisters. When he went home at night, Li Guangsu had to study for one hour, and his father and wife put her to sleep early in order not to let their daughter disturb his study.

In class, Li Guangsu asked teachers and classmates for advice, and repeatedly did questions to deepen his understanding. For a while, Li Guangsu did not go home and lived in the apartment of the flight brigade. Everyone chased after me, studied harder, and the lights in the self-study classroom were not turned off before 12 o'clock at night.
Finally, Li Guangsu overcame one esoteric and difficult knowledge point after another, and kept up with the learning progress of his comrades-in-arms.
Next, Li Guangsu and his comrades-in-arms conducted 72 hours of psychological adaptation training in a narrow environment. Li Guangsu entered a sealed room, he couldn't sleep for three days and three nights, and he had to complete various assessments within the specified time.

During the 48-hour desert wilderness survival training, Li Guangsu and his comrades lived in tents. The desert has a large temperature difference between day and night, with the surface temperature reaching 75 degrees during the day and the temperature inside the tent reaching 45 degrees. They stepped out of the tent and put their feet on the sand as if they were stepping on a red-hot iron plate, burning painfully.
At night, the temperature inside the tent was only five or six degrees, and there was a strong wind outside. The sand and gravel slapped against the tent, making a roaring and terrifying sound, Li Guangsu was so cold that his whole body curled up, and he and his comrades relied on a small amount of water and dry food to fight against the harsh environment.
