Preface
When you open or change parts, assemblies, and drawings, have you ever encountered a lag or crash? As shown in the figure below, we all have a headache when we encounter such a situation, lest the work we do go to waste.
The reasons for this problem are generally as follows:
- The hardware configuration is not suitable;
- system selection is not suitable;
- The software settings are not in place.
solution
To solve the above three problems, this article will give the following suggestions:
1. 硬件方面
Replacement upgrades can be made to meet normal working needs. By comparing the size of our own model and the content in the table below, we can choose the hardware equipment we need. This solves the vast majority of slow running problems and avoids crashes due to running out of memory.
2. 系统方面
You can use the official website of SOLIDWORKS to check the system that is compatible with your computer hardware and software. After entering the official website of SOLIDWORKS, you can conveniently find the supported system requirements at the bottom of the page.
Once we are in the system requirements, we can see the relevant icons, as shown in the image below. According to the information in the figure, compare the versions of our system and software to see if they meet the requirements, and if not, we need to change the version of our system or software to make it stable.
3. 软件方面
You can modify the relevant settings to reduce the performance consumption of the software and improve the operation efficiency, as follows:
#01
In terms of performance, we can choose to generate curvature "only when required", with "less" hierarchical detail, with animation speed turned off, so that the model generation is faster and more efficient.
#02
Option-Color-Plain, as shown in the image below, this selection will greatly improve the operation speed of the model. And it's set to pure white, which is also very convenient for us who often take screenshots.
#03
Choose different opening methods, there are three modes: restore, lightweight, and detailing, the restoration mode is completed and the running speed is relatively slow, the lightweight opening is relatively complete, the running speed is relatively fast, and the detailed drawing is not fully opened, and the running speed is relatively fast.
#04
Close unwanted plug-ins and leave them unturned on startup to improve the efficiency of software opening.
#05
There is another small detail, which you may not notice, is the option to automatically display PropetyManager as shown in the figure, after removing it, SW's lag will be reduced a lot, because we don't often need to use this PropetyManager, we need it to be there, just click on it.
The above are the common methods and techniques for dealing with problems such as software lagging, slow operation, and even crashing in our daily life. In addition to that, we can also make some adjustments to the computer settings.
