The DVR suddenly can't record!

author:Xuzhou Fix computer circuit maintenance

A few days ago, a neighbor said that the surveillance in his store could not be played back. He showed me his phone, and it was true that he could only view the real-time monitoring, but there was no action when he clicked on the playback.

The DVR can't be played, either the recording is not set, or the hard drive is broken!

Because he didn't have a monitor in the store, I had to take the DVR back to the shop for repairs.

The DVR suddenly can't record!

When I went to the store, I turned on the DVR directly, because I have been in contact with Haikang and Dahua, I didn't expect other brands of video recorders to do well, the integration is so high, there is only a small motherboard, and it supports 10-channel monitoring probes.

The DVR suddenly can't record!

I first took off the monitoring hard disk, it was a WD1T purple disk, I saw the factory date, it was a 20-year-old hard disk, and I could judge that I was using a new hard disk when I installed the monitoring.

I hung the hard disk on the computer and found that the hard disk recognition is normal, but the partition is not normal, there is a small partition of 10G, and the other more than 900G have no partition. Because different DVR manufacturers have their own hard disk partition mode and file system, it is not sure whether this is the case normally.

Scan the hard disk, the disk reading is normal, and no bad sectors are found.

Install the hard disk, connect the signal cable to the DVR, and then turn on the 12V power supply, and find that when you click playback, the hard disk is reported to be wrong. Because there is no data to keep, the hard disk is directly formatted, and the usable capacity of the hard disk after formatting is 931.5G.

At this time, click playback again, and the displayed hard disk status is already green and normal.

Although this is only a network disconnection detection at this time, it can be determined that the inability to play back is caused by a hard disk format error. Before the repair, the neighbor also said that the DVR often crashes, as long as it crashes, he will directly unplug the power and plug it in again (this DVR has no power switch, and there is no panel soft switch). I used to plug and unplug it without it, but since it crashed some time ago, I found that it couldn't be played back.

When I put the DVR back, I took a look at the power supply used by the VCR is 12V2A power supply, I feel that the DVR has been used for 4 years, and there is a 1T hard disk in it, which may be the reason for insufficient power supply. When a large amount of data needs to be read, and at the same time, the video recorder crashes due to insufficient power supply. So I told my neighbor that if there are frequent crashes in the future, you need to change to a larger 12V power supply, which can be 12V4A or 3A, so that the margin is sufficient and can not be broken for a long time.

In fact, in order to reduce the cost of products, many manufacturers now leave the factory according to the minimum configuration, which can be used, but it cannot guarantee stability and reliability. Like this recorder, if it is an energy-efficient hard drive with low power consumption, there will be no problem. Therefore, in this case, you should directly replace a large-capacity power supply for the customer, or directly use the 12V10A power supply that supplies power to the camera.

There are many more such cases, last time I installed a cloud disk for the customer, a built-in 10T hard disk, and the power supply sent was also 12V2A, so I directly replaced a 12V5A high-performance power supply, so that the equipment can ensure long-term stable and reliable operation, and also save a lot of after-sales errands.
