Recently, the "University Alumni Joint Spring Dinner" (hereinafter referred to as the "Joint Spring Dinner") initiated and organized by the "Alumni Platform" was grandly and successfully held at the InterContinental Hotel in Shenzhen.
At the "Joint Spring Dinner", the "First University Alumni Medal Team Competition" jointly sponsored by the Shenzhen Nanjing University Alumni Association and the Shenzhen Research Institute of Nanjing University, with 56 university Shenzhen alumni associations participating, has started on April 13, and plans to close on June 2 for awards.
At the "Joint Spring Dinner", the "Bay Area Alumni Alliance of Universities at Home and Abroad" (hereinafter referred to as the "Grand Alliance") will be established on August 8, initiated by the Shenzhen Office of the People's Government of the People's Government of Provinces, Municipalities and Autonomous Regions across the country and jointly initiated by the Bay Area Alumni Association of Chinese Universities.
After the "Joint Spring Dinner", the "Quangang Half Marathon and University Alumni Marathon Series", jointly sponsored by the "Alumni Platform" and the "Federation of Alumni Associations of Universities Outside Fujian Province", started on March 31 in Jinxiu Park, Quangang District, Quanzhou City, Fujian Province, with nearly 10,000 college alumni and runners participating.
The joint spring dinner is one of the regular activities carried out by the "alumni platform".
Create an alumni platform to promote collaborative development
In order to promote scientific and technological cultural exchanges and cooperation among university alumni, integrate university alumni resources more extensively, help the high-quality development of alumni careers and local economy, and expand the reputation of their alma mater, with the strong support of relevant departments of Shenzhen, seven Shenzhen alumni associations, including Tsinghua University, Peking University, Nanjing University, Tongji University, Wuhan University, Zhongda University and Jiji University, dared to be the first to initiate and successfully held a series of activities of "New Citizen Care" in 2009.
On August 8, 2009, Ouyang Xingrong, then a member of the board of trustees of Nanjing University and president of the Shenzhen Alumni Association of Nanjing University, initiated and jointly created the "Alumni Platform" with seven alumni associations. After 15 years of development, the "Alumni Platform" currently has 10 "University Alumni Alliances" and more than 100 "non-Alliance" University Bay Area Alumni Associations, with a total of nearly 300 alumni association members, which has achieved good social and economic benefits, providing solutions for alumni associations across the country to explore joint development models and explore alumni economic development paths.
To this end, on November 16, 2011, Professor Jiang Shusheng, then Vice Chairman of the National People's Congress and Chairman of the Central Committee of the Democratic League, wrote a special book: University Alumni Joint Platform.
Give full play to the advantages of science and technology to promote the development of high-tech projects
After the establishment of the "Alumni Platform", it participated in and co-organized the "China (Shenzhen) Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition" and the "China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition" (Shenzhen Division), founded the "University Alumni Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition", and hosted the "China Marine Science and Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition" and "China Aerospace Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition" and other events, accumulated high-quality innovation projects and rich experience in innovation competitions, and combined with relevant resources to create various incubators, maker spaces and other "entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship" bases.
At the beginning of 2010, a series of activities such as the "Cross-Strait University Alumni Summit Forum" and the Art Party were successfully held in the Shenzhen Civic Center, including more than 40 inland universities and more than 10 universities from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, with a total of about 60 universities joining and nearly 1,000 alumni participating.
The Hunan University Alumni Alliance has held more than 20 "Lingnan Entrepreneurship and Entrepreneurship Forum", attracting alumni from all over the country to actively participate. It also established an "IT Commune" and a company invested by alumni to be listed on the main board of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in July 2022.
Thread the needle for the government and promote investment and employment
Over the past 15 years, the "Alumni Platform" and its member alumni associations have carried out a series of activities with special characteristics of the times in the fields of scientific and technological innovation, cultural creativity, capital venture capital, etc., realizing the successful implementation of high-precision technology and integrated culture, making great contributions to the economic development of the Bay Area, the alma mater and its second hometown, and building a bridge and hub for universities at home and abroad and their global alumni to take root in society, connect with the market, and communicate with government and enterprises.
Relying on hundreds of venture capital funds such as the "Shenzhen Venture Capital Association" and with the support of local government industrial policies, the "alumni platform" gives full play to the advantages of capital venture capital, and promotes the "three innovations" cooperation of "scientific and technological innovation, cultural creativity, and capital venture capital" based on the investment and financing docking salon roadshow of the alumni circle, and expands the economic achievements of the efficient growth of emerging economies and future industries in various places. The high-quality innovative technology projects of alumni such as Sichuan University have made important contributions to local investment, intelligence and economic development.
According to Ouyang Xingrong, Chairman of the United Spring Tea and Honorary President of the Shenzhen Nanjing University Alumni Association, in June 2023, President Lv Xiangsong of the Federation of Alumni Associations of Universities Outside Fujian Province and his delegation were invited to visit the "Alumni Platform", and the alumni of Fujian Province conducted in-depth exchanges and cooperation discussions in the fields of scientific and technological innovation, cultural creativity and capital venture capital. In October of the same year, the "alumni platform" organized a return visit to Fujian Wuyishan, Fuzhou, Putian, Quanzhou and other places in Fujian, which contributed to the initiation and successful holding of the "Quangang Marathon", and realized the effective docking of college alumni, alumni enterprises and local government industrial resources through the activities of "one race, one meeting and one section", and launched the "three hundred" project plan in cooperation with the local government, namely: 100 university alumni industrial bases, 100 kilometers of off-road professional tracks and 100 colleges and universities characteristic cultural attractions.

Culture and sports go hand in hand to enhance alumni friendship
Over the past 15 years, the alumni associations of the members of the "Alumni Platform" have established many art troupes, such as the art troupes of Shenzhen Alumni Associations such as Nanda, Dongda University, Jida University, Minmin University and Geosciences University, as well as professional art troupes such as Voice of the Heart and Voice of the City, as well as Lingnan Confucian Poetry Society, etc., and have held a series of wonderful cultural and artistic activities. In the autumn of 2011, the 26th Universiade • University Alumni Star Concert held by the "Alumni Platform", 250 university alumni associations joined, and 5,500 alumni participated, with a grand scale and far-reaching influence.
The "alumni platform" has also established a systematic sports club and organized a series of sports activities such as football matches, golf matches, basketball matches, and badminton matches. Since its establishment in 2018, the "Nanjing University Shenzhen Alumni Association Alliance" has continued to hold a series of inter-school leagues for golf and football. The "China University Shenzhen Alumni Badminton Alliance", initiated by the Shenzhen Alumni Association of Tsinghua University, Peking University, Fudan University, Tongji University and Huda University, has carried out a series of college alumni competitions for more than ten years under the leadership of Chairman Jiang Huaiguo, and more than 100 university alumni associations have joined.
Care for alumni and give back to your alma mater
The "Alumni Platform" originated from the "New Citizens, Heart and Love" series of activities, and since then, "Welcoming New Students" has become a brand activity, providing the greatest employment support for newly graduated juniors and sisters to better integrate into the society and embark on new jobs.
Under the guidance of the Hunan Provincial Office in Shenzhen, the Hunan University Alumni Alliance integrated the alumni enterprises of the big health industry and the resources of famous colleges and universities such as Huya alumni, and established the "Medical and Health Committee" in July 2022 to organize medical workers to visit the alumni association, so that the alumni could not be sent to the hospital for medical treatment, so that the alumni felt warm, and in July 2023, the South China Hospital jointly established the medical and health forum "South China on Health". The leaders of Hunan Women's University led a team to visit Shenzhen and held a symposium, after which the alumni entrepreneurs visited their alma mater to recruit graduates, which touched the teachers and students. Hunan alumni entrepreneurs have donated more than 8 billion yuan to their alma mater, the Shenzhen Alumni Association of Hunan Agricultural University has donated more than 10 million yuan since its establishment in 2009, Li Pengcheng has donated 100 million yuan to support the construction of the Science and Technology Innovation Port Campus of his alma mater, and the Greater Bay Area Alumni Enterprise Alliance led by Xue Tingwu of Huaihua University has invested a total of 10 million yuan in his alma mater to cultivate application-oriented industrial talents.
Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Jiangxi University Entrepreneurs Association held a "Promote Employment, Act Together" recruitment activity in Xili Lake Talent Service Center, Nanshan District, Shenzhen in July last year, 69 representatives of caring enterprises and more than 300 graduates of Jiangxi colleges and universities participated, and the leaders of the Jiangxi Provincial Government Office in Guangdong gave high praise to the event, saying that it fully shows the care of the alumni association for their alma mater, and also shows the deep affection of the majority of caring entrepreneurs for their hometown.

At the "Joint Spring Dinner", the relevant persons in charge of the Shenzhen Office of the provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions jointly solemnly announced that they will join hands with university alumni to establish the "Bay Area Alumni Alliance of Universities at Home and Abroad" (hereinafter referred to as the "Grand Alliance") on the basis of the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the "Alumni Platform" on August 8.
The "Grand Alliance" will set up a membership development committee, a club committee, a brand activity committee, an industrial project committee, an industrial base committee, a hometown business committee, a digital platform committee and a secretariat to create a new era for the development of alumni in the Bay Area of global universities, create an international business card and a world brand for college alumni, and contribute the unique wisdom of college alumni to the development of high-quality and new-quality productivity in China's new era!
