The main core ideas of the Wealth of Nations are twofold: the division of labor and the free market.
The Wealth of Nations begins by stating: "The increase in productivity comes from the division of labor. ”
Adam Smith believed that the key to improving production efficiency is to have a clear division of labor, so as to improve production efficiency, increase production capacity, and increase productivity.
In fact, in combination with the actual situation, we can also feel that the more clear the division of labor, the higher the efficiency of the unit, the international market is a huge division of labor, the developed countries are responsible for finance and core science and technology, and the developing countries are responsible for production and manufacturing; therefore, before the reform and opening up, our country did everything by itself, so the productive forces were not good, and after the reform and opening up, we integrated into the international market, and found our own division of labor, and then gradually played a different role in the division of labor.
In fact, the more international companies divide labor around the world, the stronger their product power, such as Apple, Tesla, and Coca-Cola, and it is not possible to close off the country and play its own game.
The reason why SOEs are inefficient is that most SOEs are monopolistic and bloated, which is inconsistent with Adam Smith's division of labor and free market, so they need to be reformed now.
