On April 25, Porsche unveiled the all-new all-electric Macan at the Beijing Motor Show, which is the second all-electric model launched by Porsche after the Taycan. The new model will be available in two configurations, the Macan 4 and the Macan Turbo, with starting prices of CNY 728,000 and CNY 968,000, respectively.
Based on Porsche's latest PPE all-electric platform, the all-electric Macan features a dual-motor all-wheel drive system with a 100kWh lithium-ion battery pack and is expected to have a maximum range of more than 500 km on a WLTP.
In terms of appearance, the all-electric Macan retains the design language of the Porsche family, with split headlights at the front, fastback and frameless doors on the side of the body, and a drag coefficient of 0.25Cd. Inside, the new car is equipped with a three-spoke sports steering wheel, a 12.6-inch full LCD instrument cluster, a 10.9-inch central display, the latest Android in-car system, and supports CarPlay and Android phone mapping.
The electric motor of the all-electric Macan is powered by a lithium-ion battery located underneath the body, with a total capacity of 100 kWh and a WLTP range of more than 500 km. Powered by an 800V architecture from the PPE platform, the car supports high-performance fast charging with a maximum charging power of 270kW and can be charged from 10% to 80% in as little as 22 minutes.
In addition, the all-electric Macan introduces a new "Combination Charging" technology for charging, which allows the 800V battery to be quickly split into two batteries rated at 400V for efficient charging of up to 150kW.
In terms of performance, the all-electric Macan is equipped with the latest generation of permanent magnet synchronous motors with an output of more than 450 kW, and the electronically controlled Porsche Traction Management system manages more than 1,000 Nm of torque distribution in almost real time. At the same time, the high-spec model is also equipped with Porsche Active Suspension Management, air suspension, rear axle lateral locking and rear-axle steering with five steering angles.
The all-new all-electric Macan has significant improvements in performance, range, charging speed and driving experience, and will bring more excellent all-electric SUV options to high-end consumers.
