In order to excavate the typical cases, advanced figures and demonstration practices that have emerged in the national reading work in Fengtai District, according to the requirements of the "Implementation Opinions on Deepening the Construction of Scholarly Fengtai in the New Era", in November 2023, ten projects will be solicited in the whole district, including outstanding reading promoters, scholarly families, scholarly communities, scholarly institutions, scholarly enterprises, scholarly campuses, brand reading clubs, characteristic physical bookstores, excellent reading promotion cases, and scholarly hotels, with 5 selection places for each project. After bottom-up recommendation and selection, the review meeting will be held on November 30, 2023 and February 28, 2024, and the evaluation team will be composed of the Propaganda Department of the District Party Committee, the Working Committee of the District Organs, the District Education Commission, the District Culture and Tourism Bureau, the District Federation of Trade Unions, the Youth League District Committee, the District Women's Federation, and the District Library, and a total of 49 units and individuals will be selected for ten projects. In order to commend the advanced, drive and lead all units and all residents in the district to actively participate in various activities of national reading, and promote the in-depth development of national reading in Scholarly Fengtai, this official account will successively publish the advanced deeds of the winning units and individuals in the 2023 Scholarly Fengtai series selection.
Caoqiao Village, Yuquanying Street
Caoqiao Library is located on the second floor of Caoqiao Village Cultural Center, which was completed and opened to the public in June 2005. The total area of the building is more than 600 square meters. The library is equipped with a reading area, a library area, a calligraphy and painting room, an electronic reading room, and a self-study room. In the reading area, 15 kinds of newspapers and 22 kinds of magazines are subscribed, covering the elderly, children, health, news, sports, agriculture, etc., which can meet the needs of more than 60 readers of all ages, and the 12 bookshelves in the library area have more than 36,000 books and more than 11 sets of speaker products, covering more than 20 types of politics, military, culture, social science, literature, infants and young children. There are 13 computers in the electronic preview room, which provide readers with free reading and query materials, and the calligraphy and painting room has special personnel to carry out calligraphy and painting counseling and exchange activities throughout the year, and regularly hold calligraphy and painting exhibitions to provide a display platform for the excellent works created by community residents.
Xiluoyuan Street, Haido Xili North Community
Haihu Xili North Community belongs to Xiluoyuan Street, Fengtai District, with an area of 0.44 square kilometers, a total of 16 residential buildings, 1,821 construction households, and a permanent population of 3,795 people. The cultural room was built in 2007 and renovated in 2012 and completed in 2013, increasing the area of the cultural room from 150 square meters to 260 square meters. In 2015, the community invested more than 20,000 yuan to build a new shelter for the activity room. The outdoor cultural square of the community covers an area of 400 square meters, which meets the requirements of community residents for outdoor cultural, fitness and entertainment activities. In line with the service tenet of meeting the cultural needs of community residents and broadening the field of community culture, the two committees of the community actively play the role of the cultural activity room and carry out various learning and education activities. With the participation of the district units and surrounding residents, more than 3,000 residents participated in the activities, which narrowed the distance between residents and residents, residents and communities, enriched the residents' spare time, increased knowledge, enhanced community cohesion, showed the good spiritual outlook of community residents, and formed a unique cultural atmosphere. In order to enrich the variety of books, more than 800 new books were purchased in 2015, worth more than 20,000 yuan, and now there are more than 3,000 books, more than 30 kinds of newspapers and magazines, and are equipped with four computers and hardware facilities such as computer tables and chairs, reading tables and chairs, which are convenient for residents to read. From 2015 to 2017, it was rated as a demonstration community culture room in the "Six Tens" project of grassroots cultural construction. In 2021, it was rated as "Scholarly Community" in the "Scholarly Beijing" series of selections.
Look at the Tianxing Home Community of Baipenyao in Dan Street
The original Baipenyao Village has been famous for planting peonies and peonies since ancient times, and "since ancient times, flowers have come out of Fengtai, and peonies have come from Baipenyao" is a true portrayal of the vigorous development of flower culture in the region.
Baipenyao Tianxing Kongyuan Community adheres to the parent-child activities of picture book reading as the entry point, takes cultural activities as the carrier, adheres to the guidance of party building, community platform, and multi-party linkage, and carries out the construction of a scholarly community, so that reading can become a common practice and vigorously promote community governance. The first is the "Peony Fairy" parent-child reading program, which guides children and families to read together from various picture books, integrates cultural construction into community governance, and improves the level of public cultural services in the community. Picture books are children's "first book of life", through which children will be exposed to exquisite patterns, beautiful and rhythmic phrases, and expand themes such as family, nature, life, and safety. The second is to broaden the form of reading activities, focusing on reading, and carry out activities such as picture book sitcoms and parental reading skills tutoring; the third is to invite resident volunteers and college students to volunteer during winter and summer vacations to participate in community public welfare reading and reading, and strive to achieve co-creation and sharing among all employees; fourth, relying on the new era civilization practice station of the party building activity room to carry out theoretical lectures, cultural science popularization and other activities. With the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China as the main line, combined with the education of the four histories, the red-themed reading club was launched. The reading room basically achieves "weekly activities, monthly wonderful, and every year". Fifth, we will continue to optimize the reading space, and in 2023, the reading room will be expanded to more than 100 square meters, with a new collection of 2,000 books, so as to create a reading brand activity place integrating reading, learning, entertainment and communication for community residents.
Fanghuali Family Retirement Community, Fangzhuang Street
In order to meet the reading habits and needs of all kinds of people, Fanghuali Family Retirement Community is a mixed-age culture and age-friendly community, which has opened up creative classrooms, reading rooms, tea rooms, coffee shops, round halls, conference rooms, roof gardens, sunken gardens and other activity spaces, which can meet the needs of different groups of people for various forms of reading activities, and has held more than 20 activities since it was put into use in January 2023.
A library was established in Fanghuali, more than 2,000 books were donated by Xinhua Winshare and Zhifeng Volunteer Alliance, and more than 3,000 books were donated by residents of Fangzhuang community and the elders living in Fanghuali, with a cumulative collection of more than 5,000 books. A mobile book station has been established with the Capital Library, which will be able to borrow 300 books from Shoutu every quarter in 2023, and increase the number of books that can be borrowed to 500 books per quarter from 2024.
In May 2022, the Fanghua Reading Club reading brand was launched, and it has successively read books such as "Restart a Vibrant Life", "Nonviolent Communication", "Puppy Money Money", "Family First Aid Encyclopedia", "100 Questions and Answers on Aging Knowledge", accumulated more than 100 readers, and established a reading WeChat group.
At the same time, it has established a volunteer service alliance with the Working Committee for the Care of the Next Generation and the Party branch of college students, and regularly organizes volunteers to go to the community to accompany the elderly to read and listen to books, and during the epidemic in 2022, it has launched the "Listen for an Hour" service with the Beijing Meixin Road Foundation to pass on the skills of "non-violent communication" to thousands of households under the epidemic.
Liuliqiao Village, Liuliqiao Street
The community library covers an area of more than 50 square meters and has a built-in collection of about 7,000 books. In order to meet the cultural needs of community residents and improve the cultural quality of community residents, the library provides convenient reading services, and regularly carries out reading activities with rich content and various forms that the masses like every year, so as to jointly promote the construction of community spiritual civilization and build a cultural community.
In order to better create a parent-child family reading atmosphere of "loving reading, reading good books, and being good at reading", stimulate the enthusiasm of the majority of families for reading, and develop the good habit of children advocating reading and consciously reading. Liuliqiao Village held a parent-child reading club with the theme of "Happy Reading, Reading Love, and More Growth", which held parent-child reading activities with families as a unit, and read "Wisdom Stories" together under the leadership of the staff. The in-person reading club theme activities aim to promote the cultivation of interest in reading from an early age, and at the same time enhance the emotional communication between parents and children. In the future, Liuliqiao Village will continue to promote reading activities, actively create a good environment of "happy reading, reading love, and growing more", promote excellent reading culture, and create a harmonious and civilized scholarly village style.
