As soon as Unicom and China Telecom's mobile phones entered the underground garage, there was no signal.

The reporter walked around the underground garage and found that in addition to the entrance and exit of the garage within more than ten meters, the entire underground garage is a signal blind spot. The reporter tried to make a call, but the mobile phone also indicated that he could not access the mobile network and could not access the Internet.

The reporter saw that there were many parking spaces in the garage, but there were not many vehicles parked. A car owner who was parking said that there had been no signal in the basement and that he could only make a phone call after going out.

Lou Xiaoyu, director of property quality maintenance of the community, introduced that part of the community was delivered in 2022, and part of it was delivered in September last year, and some of the houses are still under renovation, and the overall occupancy rate is currently around 30%. There are more than 1,600 parking spaces in the underground garage of the community, but because the parking spaces have not been delivered, there is no full coverage of communication at present.

"Without a signal, it is not convenient for us to work on our own, and we have to use walkie-talkies as soon as we enter the basement. Lou Xiaoyu said that when the house was handed over last year, three communication companies came, and they hoped to carry out overall signal coverage of the underground garage, but because the garage had not been delivered, it was not promoted.

The reporter learned from China Telecom Xinjiang Company that the company will focus on key scenarios to carry out 5G construction this year according to the requirements of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's "signal upgrade". In two to three years, 5G coverage will be improved in scenarios such as transportation hubs, subways, tertiary hospitals, scenic spots (full coverage of 5A key points), government affairs centers (at or above the county level), universities (campuses), high-traffic business districts, high-density residential areas (more than 1,000 households), and high-speed (service areas). At the same time, in the Urumqi area, it is planned to improve the network coverage of 38 high-density residential communities by May, and in the next two years, it is planned to gradually improve the network coverage of 1,242 underground parking lots.

China Mobile Xinjiang plans to invest more than 1,000 yuan this year for the network coverage of underground garages in Urumqi, and strive to solve most of the underground garage network coverage problems by 2025. As of the end of March this year, the network coverage rate of underground garages in Urumqi reached 80.66%.
