April 23 is the 29th World Book Day. Recently, the Jinyue Neighborhood Committee of Xincheng Community officially opened the "I and We, Let's Read Together" and "4.23 World Book Day" public welfare bazaar. The event was guided by the CPPCC member workstation (liaison group) of Nanqiao Town's "Practicing the Whole Process of People's Democracy", Nanqiao Town United Front, Nanqiao Town Overseas Chinese Federation, and Nanqiao Town New Union, hosted by Xincheng Community, and undertaken by Jinyue Neighborhood Committee, social welfare unit "Natural Magic Wand", Sangzi Station, Fengxian Station, Shanghai Muen Agricultural Professional Cooperative.
The activity starts with reading and loving books, allowing residents to experience immersive community construction, focusing on young people in the jurisdiction through the form of public welfare bazaars, promoting youth development through practice, allowing them to devote themselves to community governance, playing the role of "tomorrow's committee", and allowing "me and us" to "enjoy" reading, and jointly participate in and build a better living environment in the community.
As a social welfare unit focusing on natural environmental protection education, "Nature Magic Wand" mainly focuses on natural environmental protection audio stories. In this activity, the "Magic Wand of Nature" was displayed to residents and friends in the form of tabloids with the theme of ecological environment, advocating that everyone get close to nature and establish an intimate connection with nature, so that everyone can get along with the earth in a more friendly and harmonious way, such as developing good living habits such as saving water and electricity in daily life, reducing the emission of pollutants such as exhaust gas and wastewater, caring for flowers and trees, and protecting animals and plants. As of the end of February 2024, in the past four years, "Magic Wand Nature" has created a total of 221 environmental audio stories, and has published a set of 4 picture book stories.

At the booth where the fragrance of "books" grows with me, the pen, ink, paper, inkstone, and red Fu characters are all kinds of tools, which not only allow the young people in the community to feel the immersion of literature, but also let them learn about rich extracurricular knowledge and experience unique community activities.
A total of 10 booths have been set up in the interactive area of stamp games, with a variety of interesting games such as reading, environmental protection, nature, learning, guessing and so on, and some awards have also been set up, so that teenagers and residents can interact with each other.
Among them, "you draw and I guess" is one of the well-known games, where children need to rely on some key words and some body movements to let their partners guess the correct words expressed. In the laughter, the children added one seal after another, and gained a valuable friendship.
Parent-child families from various communities took the initiative to donate idle items at home and set up stalls at the door of their homes for charity sales, which not only effectively exercised the children's communication skills, but also enhanced the interaction between parents and children. This activity converts idle items into community self-governance public welfare activities, so that residents and the community are more connected, and the theme of "me and us" shines more brightly.
The charity bazaar gathered many "caring stall owners", although they are still young, but they are not sloppy at all. Some of them are carefully sorting out the goods, some are carefully posting QR codes, and some are shouting: "Come and see, my things are good!" All of them are like experienced "small shopkeepers", working very hard to sell their "goods" to residents and friends.
Some social welfare organizations, businesses and residents in the surrounding areas also actively joined in and set up creative booths to help the charity sale and donate their love.
The event site also intimately set up caring and convenient services such as hair cutting and sharpening, anti-fraud publicity, trimming clothes, and car wash testing. Residents can enjoy free and heart-warming convenience services and on-site professional medical consulting services. The stalls are very lively, especially the stalls for making cotton candy and popcorn, which are very popular with children, and many parents bring their children to experience the fun of making.
