Bimota and Kawasaki return to the WSBK arena

Italy's Bimota announces its return to the World Superbike Championship (WSBK) with the Kawasaki Racing Team to form a new racing team, "Bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team", which will compete in the WSBK for the 2025 season, with a Bimota-built frame and Kawasaki ZX-10RR engines.

For Kawasaki, who has been competing in the WSBK for nearly 40 years, this symbolizes a new layout in the WSBK, and on the other hand, for Bimota, it means a high-profile return to the top of the game. In the inaugural season of the 1988 WSBK, Bimota won seven races through Italy's Davide Tardozzi (5 times) and France's Stephane Mertens (2 times).

After Bimota became a shareholder of Kawasaki in 2019, it launched a number of models equipped with Kawasaki engines, such as the Tesi H2 with a supercharged engine, and the KB4/RC retro Cafe Racer with Ninja 1000 four-cylinder power. It is also very interesting to see what kind of sparks will emerge from the cooperation between the two parties at the WSBK level this time.

The suspension and positioning equipment are quite sufficient, and combined with the approachable seat height, I believe it can attract more people

The cooperation between Kawasaki and Bimota is also a major trend in WSBK racing in recent years, especially after Ducati's Panigale V4R built by MotoGP technology swept the field, Japanese car manufacturers are facing the double threat of declining sales of top commercial imitation races and lack of competition in the field.
