On April 23, Gulou District held the 2024 Work Conference on Caring for the Next Generation. Chen Heng, member of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee, head of the Organization Department, and first director of the District Customs Working Committee, attended the meeting and delivered a speech; Chen Kang, director of the District Customs Working Committee, made a work report, summarized and reviewed the work in 2023, and studied and deployed the tasks in 2024.
The meeting conveyed the spirit of the Provincial and Municipal Customs Working Committee, and three units, including Hongshan Town, District Education Bureau, and Runlou Education Group, made typical experience exchange speeches.

The meeting pointed out that in 2023, the District Customs Working Committee will focus on the center and serve the overall situation, adhere to the "one main line, two integrations, and three key points", carry out in-depth education on the theme of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and actively integrate into the "Drum Tower Great Ideological and Political Circle" and the "Happiness Circle for the Integration of the Old and the Young", and help the construction of the "Great Ideological and Political Thinking" and "Quarter of an Hour Happiness Circle" in our district. In the annual work report, the China Customs Working Committee and the provincial and municipal customs work committees respectively fully affirmed and promoted the experience and practices of "party building with customs construction" and "five elders" to help childcare in our district.

Chen Heng, member of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee, head of the Organization Department, and first director of the District Customs Working Committee, put forward three requirements for the district's care for the next generation this year: First, we must focus on establishing morality and cultivating people and strengthen political guidance for the next generation. Taking the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China as an opportunity, combined with the theme of "the old and the young sing the praises of the party's kindness and forge ahead on a new journey hand in hand", we will innovate methods and means to promote ideological and political education and improve the educational effect in a way that the majority of young people are willing to accept and easy to understand. Second, we must focus on caring and caring for the next generation and improve the quality and efficiency of services for the next generation. Attentive in service growth, affectionate in helping the poor, and working skill development, improve the collaborative education mechanism of family, community and school, and comprehensively improve the level of care and service ability. Third, we must gather resources and form a joint force to care for the next generation.
