Many times we do exhibition hall space, will put a lot of attention on the wall, and the top design is mostly not valued, or even ignored, and eventually becomes an advertising wall, although the layout details are a lot, the text size and typography are also more beautiful, but always feel that the picture is flat, the space visual tension is not enough, this is mainly because of the lack of overall space thinking.
You can also take a look at your own space effect, whether the top surface treatment also exists in this situation, not much thought clearly, the top surface and the façade lack of association, sometimes the modeling ceiling is isolated, resulting in uncoordinated space, the picture is stiff, fragmented, patchwork.
How should the top surface of the exhibition hall be designed, in order to make the space more complete, and at the same time, the level is rich and just right.
01 Single plane modeling
I have seen too many cases, the top design is simple and the aluminum square is full of shops, sometimes I want to do more abundant, but the over-design is overdone, and a series of problems such as the chaotic relationship between the primary and secondary spaces appear.
There are many ways to hang the ceiling of the exhibition hall, and it is definitely not the practice of aluminum square pass, even if the aluminum square pass is used, the hoisting method is different, and the final effect is not the same.
Cross-hoisting: flexible and changeable, can present a variety of combination effects.
Return-shaped hoisting: form a complete block effect, which is more coordinated with the gypsum board side hanging shape, and the choice of Fangtong color will also directly affect the visual effect, black Fangtong is not standard, and white is cleaner in comparison.
Through-paving hoisting: the installation is the most convenient and efficient, but there will be edge problems, and the direct connection with other shapes is more rigid.
Aluminum side through the paving hoisting can be done around the edge of the seam treatment, so that the square pass and the wall will not directly collide together, to avoid the sense of stiffness, but also to the square pass itself to do the edge treatment, highlighting more details.
There are also commonly used gypsum board ceilings for single plane modeling ceilings, which have more space and can do more modeling and layering.
The ceiling material can be freely selected, such as metal grid, mirror panel material, aluminum plate, etc., and the effect texture is better.
Metal mesh ceiling: there are more textures of punching holes, more options than Fangtong, easy to install, and easy to overhaul the line.
Mirrored stainless steel ceiling: high reflective, strong texture, the use of this material in a small space can raise the overall visual layer height.
Aluminum plate ceiling: strong texture, higher moisture-proof and fireproof level, especially in the south is the exhibition hall space on the first floor that is prone to moisture, the use of aluminum plate is a good choice.
Water ripple stainless steel ceiling: the corrugated texture can be selected, and the installation effect is better when doing hemming treatment.
02 Top modeling is layered
Flat ceilings will inevitably make people feel too bland, the ceiling can be designed at multiple levels, with only one purpose, to break the plane effect, so that the top surface can also present a rich sense of hierarchy and rhythm.
Modeling combined with hanging lights: Combined with art chandeliers, it can increase the sense of hierarchy and atmosphere on the top surface, and can effectively reduce the visual height and create a visual focus when encountering a space where the floor height is too high.
Modeling combined with lamp film ceiling: gypsum board ceiling combined with lamp film, the two materials in the shape of the turning surface, the transition is more natural.
A variety of materials are combined to make modeling ceilings: multi-level modeling superimposes different materials, and the visual picture is richer when combined, but it is necessary to control the material and color to avoid clutter.
Bare ceiling spraying + local ceiling: by doing local ceiling and hanging light box, the sense of space hierarchy can be increased, and the cost can be controlled at the same time.
In the exhibition area of the Sleep Culture Museum, the height of the site is relatively high, the top surface is sprayed with black, and when displaying the products, the round and square light boxes are hung below, and the height of the floor is reasonably planned, the sense of region is more obvious, and the modeling level is richer.
03 Modeling combined with multimedia
If the plane ceiling and the multi-level modeling ceiling can not achieve the expected effect, you may wish to open your mind.
With the modeling ceiling + multimedia equipment, it presents more interesting and rich content, some spaces hide the projection in the ceiling, and there are also LED screens on the top surface to present the content, increasing the sense of spatial hierarchy while bringing the audience a more diverse visual experience.
An exhibit at the entrance of the Sanxingdui Museum, the top surface is made of an eye outline shape, and the inside of the eye socket is a large LED screen, which is a closed eye at first, and slowly opens the eyes, presenting more rich story content.
The screen presents the location and excavation process of Sanxingdui, and the shape and content are closely combined, which is also one of the highlights of the exhibition in this museum.
The exhibition area of the Tao Temple Ruins in the Linfen Museum is also interesting, the longitudinal space of the sand table is divided into three layers, the upper, middle and lower layers, which describe the early, middle and late development of the Tao Temple.
The sand table design is unique, the corner of the four sides is suspended, and the top surface is made to hang down and echo the sand table below, enriching the space level and making this area a bright spot, just the top projector cleverly hidden in the ceiling shape.
Summary: The design of the exhibition hall wants the space to have stronger visual tension and is not ordinary, but it can be conceived from the perspective of the overall space, not only the top surface, but also the connection between the façade and the ground, and the overall visual effect of the space can be improved through the optimization of these details.
