Automobili Lamborghini has embarked on a new chapter with the launch of its first plug-in hybrid super SUV, the Urus SE. With a new design, optimised aerodynamics, unprecedented on-board technology and a hybrid powertrain with an output of 800 hp, the Urus SE is a plug-in hybrid model (PHEV) that achieves the highest level of comfort in the Urus model range in terms of comfort, performance, efficiency, emissions and driving pleasure. Thanks to its "double heart" (thermal and electrical), the Urus SE achieves the highest torque and power values, is unique in its class and has 80% fewer emissions.

Unparalleled driving experience

The Urus SE offers an unrivalled driving experience, with a plug-in hybrid system that helps to improve the vehicle's performance and dynamics in all road conditions – with innovative technological solutions such as the electrically driven torque vectoring system between the two axles and the electronically controlled rear axle differential, ensuring that the vehicle achieves even more torque and power delivery at any speed.

The 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine has been redesigned to work optimally with the electric powertrain. The engine produces 620 hp and 800 Nm of torque, while the electric powertrain produces 192 hp and 483 Nm of torque. In terms of maximum power output, the focus is on the tuning between the internal combustion engine engine and the electric motor to achieve a combined output of 800 hp, ensuring an optimal power profile in every driving mode and on any road surface. The 25.9 kWh lithium-ion battery is located below the load-bearing floor and above the electronically controlled rear axle differential. A permanent magnet synchronous motor in an eight-speed automatic transmission powers the V8 engine and can also be used as a traction element, enabling the Urus SE to be fully electric all-wheel drive and capable of driving more than 60 kilometers in all-electric mode.

For the first time, the Urus SE features a new mid-mounted longitudinal electric torque vectoring system with an electro-hydraulic multi-plate clutch that provides continuous, variable torque distribution between the front and rear axles. The transfer case works in tandem with a new electronic limited-slip differential mounted on the rear axle to oversteer the car "on demand" for a true supercar driving experience. Both systems have been carefully designed and tuned to optimally adapt to road conditions and driving styles with a wide range of grips. Whether you're driving on a race track, desert dunes, ice or mud, the vehicle offers maximum traction and agility.

Design & Aerodynamics

While the Urus redefines the design of the SUV, the Urus SE redefines the model's styling standards and refreshes the body line design to optimize aerodynamic efficiency.

The design of the Urus SE is dynamic, emphasizing the car's sporty and muscular feel. At the front, a new front hatch with a floating design eliminates the cut lines to enhance coherence and reinforce the sporty style of the Urus SE, echoing the new design concept introduced by the Revuelto. Other new design elements include headlight clusters with matrix LED technology, a new light pattern inspired by the tail of a bull that emblems the Lamborghini brand, and a redesigned bumper and front grille.

"The Urus continues to be recognizable by its design and proportions," said Mitja Borkert, Head of Lamborghini Design Center. We took inspiration from the Revuelto's floating front hatch for a very clean and muscular front design. The state-of-the-art headlight clusters include new, uniquely designed daytime running lights. At the rear, the car features a wider stance with a new diffuser and a low-mounted license plate position, while the rear grille is inspired by Lamborghini supercars such as the Gallardo. The interior design follows Lamborghini's 'Pilot Experience' concept, which enhances the interaction between the driver and the digital system. ”

The rear trunk lid has been redesigned to introduce a Gallardo-inspired cohesive design, which enhances the car's lines and sportier proportions by connecting the tail light clusters with the "Y" lamps and a new rear diffuser. The Urus SE's diffuser and new spoiler increase downforce by 35 percent at high speeds (compared to the Urus S), further enhancing the car's stability.

New underbody vents and improved air ducts further improve aerodynamic efficiency, bringing in more airflow to cool machinery and engine components, resulting in a 15% increase in airflow compared to the original Urus. The new design of the front of the vehicle, combined with the aerodynamic optimisation of the underside, improves the airflow management dedicated to the braking system, resulting in 30% more air cooling than the original system.

Personalization

Urus SE offers a range of customisation options that are unmatched in its class. The alloy wheels have been upgraded to 23-inch Galanthus wheels, and the new Pirelli P Zero tyres are fitted as standard, with three exclusive P Zero tyres, ranging from 21-inch to 23-inch tyres. The Scorpion Winter 2 tires are suitable for the cold season. All tires feature Pirelli Elect technology, which is designed to enhance the characteristics of electric and plug-in hybrid models.

There are more than 100 exterior colours to choose from, including two new colours introduced at launch – Arancio Egon (orange) exterior with Arancio Apodis (orange) interior, Bianco Sapphirus exterior with Terra Kedros (terracotta) interior, with 47 colour combinations and four embroidery styles (Q-citura stitching), in addition to Ad The Personam Premium Personalisation Program offers even more options, allowing owners to make their Urus SE a truly one-of-a-kind car.

Interior

The newly upgraded cockpit highlights Lamborghini's signature "pilot experience" design DNA, while the front of the instrument panel features a new concept that continues the Revuelto's lightweight concept. The center console features a larger display that has been upgraded to 12.3 inches, with a new human-machine interface and a new icon display that is consistent with the Revuelto, for a more intuitive experience. In addition, the designers at the Lamborghini Centro Stile Design Center have designed air conditioning vents, Y-shaped anodized aluminium trim, and new panels, seats and dashboard covers. The mechanical button panel brings a more substantial tactile feel.

The driver is provided with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and the aforementioned 12.3-inch touchscreen display integrated into the centre console, which is at the heart of the Lamborghini Infotainment System (LIS), which also includes a telemetry system for SE models and a new display interface related to driver assistance systems to better perceive the user's surroundings.

Four distinct personalities

The "Tamburo" lever, located in the center of the console, is used to select different driving modes. Thanks to the introduction of the hybrid powertrain, the Urus's 6 driving modes are combined with 4 new Electric Performance Strategies (EPS) for a total of 11 options: Strada (road), Sport (Sport) and Corsa (track) modes for road and track driving, Neve (snow), Sabbia (sand) and Terra (off-road) modes for roads with different grips than asphalt, and now EV Drive (pure electric mode), Hybrid, Performance and Recharge modes.

The all-electric mode allows the driver to fully experience and utilize the potential energy. Developed and tuned for city driving, the mode offers an all-electric range of more than 60 km and a top speed of more than 130 km/h. If this speed is exceeded, the V8 engine will automatically support the motor, and the same applies when the torque demand exceeds the maximum torque of the motor.

Depending on the selected driving mode, the vehicle's air springs adjust the ground clearance, which ranges from 15 mm on the Corsa (racetrack) to 75 mm at the start of the chassis lift system. The parameters for adjusting the steering, drivability and the sound of the twin-turbo V8 engine are also variable, highlighting the "personality" of the Urus SE.
