IT Home reported on April 25 that HMD Global announced the launch of its first original smartphone series Pulse, including three models: Pulse, Pulse+ and Pulse Pro. HMD says the Pulse series is a sign that they will bring self-repairable devices to consumers. Through the Gen 1 Design for Serviceability program, HMD has partnered with iFixit, a repair guide website, to make it easy for users to find the parts they need to repair their phones if they fail.

The Pulse Pro is the highest-positioned device in the Pulse series, with a 6.6-inch HD+, 90Hz refresh rate display, and dual vertical cameras on the back, including a 50MP main camera and a 2MP depth-of-field lens. HMD says that the Pulse Pro has Super Night and Tripod modes, as well as flash shots and AI HDR capabilities. In addition, its AI Super Portrait mode can also help reduce blur issues in night shots. The front camera is likewise 50MP.

The Pulse Pro is powered by UNISOC T606 processor, supplemented by 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and supports microSD card expansion up to 256GB. HMD equips it with a 5000mAh battery that claims to last up to 59 hours and supports 20W fast charging. The device comes with Android 14 pre-installed at the factory, and HMD promises two years of system update support.

The Pulse Pro will soon be available in the international market, in three colorways: Glacier Green, Twilight Purple and Black, priced at €180 (currently around 1,397 RMB).

Compared to the Pulse Pro, the HMD Pulse Plus features a 6.6-inch HD+, 90Hz refresh rate display of the same size, but the front camera of the Pulse Plus drops to 8MP. The rear camera also features a dual-vertical camera design, with a 50MP main camera and a depth-of-field lens.

The Pulse Plus is powered by the same MediaTek UNISOC T606 processor as the Pulse Pro, offering 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, and also supports microSD card expansion up to 256GB. Available in Apricot Orange, Midnight Blue and Glacier Green, the Pulse Plus is currently available in overseas markets for €160 (currently around 1,242 RMB).

The last model in the series, the HMD Pulse, is in line with the other two models in terms of CPU and display. The difference is that the Pulse's rear camera is a 13MP dual camera, and the front camera is still 8MP. The Pulse comes with the same 5000mAh battery as the Pulse Plus, supports 10W charging, and officially claims to have a battery life of up to 59 hours. In terms of storage, Pulse only offers 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, although it also supports microSD card expansion up to 256GB.
