Hotel engineering: Are you a lurking submersible pump killer?
I often hear people ridicule people who are not very good at driving skills as "road killers". As everyone knows, there will be a hidden "submersible pump killer" around us!" submersible pump will have some failures during use, in fact, some small faults are caused by improper use and maintenance, if in the normal use process, we can pay more attention, it can be prevented, come and see the following ten ways to improve the service life of submersible pumps!
Hotel engineering: Are you a lurking submersible pump killer?

1. Are you sure the direction of rotation of the motor is correct?

ask

answer

The direction of rotation of the motor should be clarified, and there are many types of submersible pumps that can produce water when it rotates forward and reverse, but the water output is small and the current is large when reversing, and the motor winding will be damaged if the reversal time is long.

Q: Second, have you ever turned on the submersible pump when the power supply voltage is abnormal?

ask

answer

Due to the relatively long low-voltage power supply line, it is common for the terminal voltage of the line to be too low. When the phase voltage is lower than 198 volts and the line voltage is lower than 342 volts, the speed of the submersible pump motor decreases, and when it does not reach 70% of the rated speed, the starting centrifugal switch will be closed, causing the starting winding to be energized for a long time and heating and even burning out the winding and capacitor. On the contrary, too high a voltage causes the motor to overheat and burn out the windings. Therefore, in the operation of the submersible pump, the operator must observe the power supply voltage value at any time, if it is less than 10% lower than the rated voltage and more than 10% higher than the rated voltage, the motor should be stopped running, find out the cause and eliminate the fault.

Q: 3. Do you understand the insulation resistance requirements of cable installation and submersible pump?

ask

answer

When installing a submersible pump, the cable should be overhead and the power cord should not be too long. Do not stress the cable when the submersible pump is launched or raised, so as not to cause the power cord to break. Do not sink into the mud when the submersible pump is working, otherwise it will cause poor heat dissipation of the motor and burn out the motor winding. When installing, the insulation resistance of the motor should not be less than 0.5 megaohms.

4. Do you know the importance of the installation of leakage protectors?

ask

answer

The leakage protector is also called a life saver, and its role can be understood from the three words "life saver". Because the submersible pump works underwater, it is easy to leak electricity, resulting in power loss and even electric shock accidents. If it is equipped with a leakage protector, as long as the leakage value of the submersible pump exceeds the operating current value of the leakage protector (generally not more than 30 mA), the leakage protector will cut off the power supply of the submersible pump to ensure safety and avoid leakage and waste of electric energy.

Q: 5. Have you ever switched on and off frequently?

ask

answer

Do not switch the submersible pump on and off frequently, because the electric pump will produce backflow when it stops, and if it is turned on immediately, the motor load will start, resulting in excessive starting current and burning out the windings. Due to the high current at start-up, frequent start-up will also burn out the motor windings of the submersible pump.

Q: 6. Have you overloaded your submersible pump for a long time?

ask

answer

In order to avoid long-term overload of the submersible electric pump, do not pump water with large sand content and observe whether the current value is specified on the nameplate at any time. In addition, the dehydration time of the electric pump should not be too long, so as not to overheat the motor and burn out.

Hotel engineering: Are you a lurking submersible pump killer?

Tips:

7. Pump maintenanceWhen the pump fails, do not disassemble it yourself. Because when disassembling by oneself, one is to blindly disassemble one by not knowing where the fault is, and the other is to damage the original intact parts without special tools. The best way is to go to an experienced and large-scale repair point for repair, and replace "overage" parts and some wearing parts in time. Under normal circumstances, the pump should be repaired once every six months to prevent "sick" work.

8. Some necessary checks should be done before the submersible pump starts. Whether the rotation of the pump shaft is normal, whether there is any jamming, whether the position of the impeller is normal, whether the cable and cable plug are broken, abrasive and broken, etc. During operation, it is necessary to pay attention to the change of voltage, which is generally controlled within the range of ±5% of the rated voltage. In addition, the position of the pump in the water is very important, should be selected as far as possible in the place with abundant water, no silt, good water quality, vertically suspended in the water, not allowed to be placed horizontally, so as not to fall into the mud or be suspended solids to block the pump inlet, resulting in a sharp decrease in water output or even no pumping.

9. For the self-priming pump, it should be placed in a well-ventilated place as much as possible to facilitate rapid heat dissipation and reduce the temperature of the motor. Otherwise, it will run for a long time and it is very easy to burn out the motor. For example, when a farmer uses a self-priming pump, the motor overheats and burns out the coil because the plastic film covering the motor is not removed. In addition, before starting, be sure to check the water storage in the pump body, otherwise, it will not only affect the self-priming performance, but also easily burn the shaft seal parts. Under normal circumstances, the water should be discharged 3~5 minutes after the pump starts, otherwise it should be stopped immediately for inspection.

10. If the pump is stored in the non-use period, the pump should be lifted away from the water source in time and the water in the pump should be emptied, especially in the cold winter. Then it is placed in a dry place, and users can also apply butter to the key parts of the water pump and add lubricating oil to the bearing to prevent the parts from corroding. In addition, the non-service life of the pump is not always better. If it is not used for a long time, it is not only easy to corrode the parts, but also reduce the service life of the pump.

Pay attention to the daily maintenance of the submersible sewage pump: check the motor frequently, if it is found that the lower cover is cracked, the rubber sealing ring is damaged or failing, etc., it should be replaced or repaired in time to avoid water seeping into the submersible pump. Pay attention to the use of submersible pump protector and pay attention to some daily protection, which can better extend the service life of submersible pump.
