Cultivating Character and Allowing Students to "Read Good Books"
Professor Chen Jun, Director of Nanjing Library, Adjunct Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of the School of Liberal Arts of Nanjing University, was invited to the Yuhua Campus of Zhonghua Middle School and gave a lecture entitled "Talking about Literary Genres" to the students.
In this lecture, Professor Chen Jun first started from the current situation of literary genre research and summarized the existing problems in current research. Then, with the help of typical cases such as "Dream of the Red Chamber" and "The Hypocrite" in ancient and modern China and foreign countries, typical texts in important literary works are extracted to carry out a close reading of the text, analyze the process of genre evolution, discover the problems of genre differentiation, and reveal the connotation of genre research.
Director Chen Jun's explanation was clear and hierarchical, which not only provided a unique reading and research perspective, but also gave students a rare opportunity to rethink the issue of genre and accurately understand and grasp the history of literary development.
After the lecture, Director Chen Jun inscribed "Reading for the Rise of China" for the school library in the Chinese Classics Area.
Then, Director Chen Jun and Principal Zhu Zheng, as representatives of both units, carried out the awarding ceremony of "Nanjing Library and Nanjing Zhonghua Middle School to Build a Literature Resource Sharing Base" and "'Outstanding Pioneer Talent Training Project' Extracurricular Education Base".
