• Do everything in one sentence: Too lazy to do it? Use the voice assistant to control the headphones directly, if you want to listen to a song, make a phone call, or something, you can do it with your mouth.

However, ULT Wear also has some shortcomings:

• Lack of precision: For users looking for sound reproduction, the tuning of ULT Wear may be too bass-leaning.

ULT Wear headphones are the ones that don't stand out and are available in black, grey and white. The overall design is simple and pleasant to the touch, with the Sony logo printed under the headband on both sides. The ear cups and the underside of the headband are padded thick, which is very comfortable, and even if you listen to music for hours, you won't feel like your ears are pinched. The headphones are stuffed with a 40mm speaker, which can ensure a sound range from 5Hz to 20kHz, and the bass can be heard from the treble.

App Experience

Sony's Headphones app (available in both Android and Apple app stores) is fairly simple to use, divided into three sections: headphones, activities, and menus.

Headphones: Key features page

• Displays the remaining battery and the audio decoder used
• In the upper right corner, you can view the tutorial and firmware version
• Four sub-sections: Status, Sound, Systems, and Services

State:

Cool, this is a place to show if the noise cancellation function is on or not (just like the noise cancelling headphones on an airplane) and what song you're listening to. You can also directly control playback, song changes, and volume.

Sound: This is the most useful part, with a lot of features.

• Ambient Sound Control: Noise can be canceled, set to ambient sound mode (so you can hear what's going on around you), or simply turn it off. You can also adjust the intensity in ambient mode, and there's even a "vocal mode" that lets you hear people speak clearly.
• Equalizer: Choose from a variety of preset sounds, or tune your own.
• There are also two bass modes, don't miss it if you like heavy bass!
• What's great is that there's also a "Find Your Equalizer" feature, which will set your own sound effects according to your listening habits.

System: You can manage connecting multiple devices, adjust the volume you hear when you're on a call, and set up auto-pause and auto-update. You can also turn off the touch sense on your headphones (it's embarrassing to slip your hand wrong) and even add an "off" option for noise cancellation/ambient mode. You can also set up Amazon's Alexa voice assistant to control your headphones with your voice (no need to press buttons yourself).

Service: I didn't finish this feature when I tried it out (it should still be in development)

Activity: It's up to you, you can record your headphone usage time, and you can also get a medal (which is quite interesting)

Powerful bass, comfortable to wear, is it worth buying?

Thanks to Sony's integrated processor V1 and advanced microphone array, the ULT Wear headphones exhibit high-quality noise cancellation in our tests. It cancels out most of the powerful low-frequency rumble from test recordings, although some low-frequency noise is still audible. It also significantly reduces low- and mid-frequency noise from noisy restaurant samples. While high-frequency noises are a little tricky to handle, the good fit of the thick ear cushions helps reduce their impact. In the same price range, its noise-cancelling performance can be said to be top-notch.

Sony's transparent listening mode, Ambient Sound, is also excellent. Turn it up to the highest level and you'll hear almost as clear as your surroundings, just a little brighter to improve the clarity of your conversation. As mentioned earlier, you can also enable "Vocal Mode," which focuses on vocals while suppressing all other surrounding noise. Both modes are very intuitive and easy to use, and the microphone's effective wind noise reduction is also impressive.

Bass feel

To evaluate the sound quality, I turned off all sound enhancements. Listening to tracks in the bass-strong feature, the headphones provide a powerful low-frequency response even when no ULT mode is active. ULT 1 mode predictably boosts the subwoofer and adds a sense of rumble to the mix, but doesn't overpower the treble. The ULT 2 mode makes the song sound like music heard outside of a noisy ballroom, where most of what you hear is a rumble of bass with very little midrange and treble.

With all ULT modes turned off, the bass is not as strong, like the drums sound almost minimal. Vocals are enriched by the low mid frequencies and the high frequencies become clear, and the guitar strumming also has high frequency detail.

Overall, you can use EQ to make each of these modes sound a little more reasonable and find your own style.

Overall, if you're looking for powerful bass and powerful noise cancellation, ULT Wear is definitely your cup of tea!, but if you're more concerned about sound quality and are particularly eco-friendly, you can also consider Urbanista Los Angeles headphones in the same price range, which have a better sound quality and can be charged by solar power. ♻️ Those who prefer natural sound quality can also check out the Sennheiser Accentum Plus Wireless Headphones, although a little more expensive, but the sound is more realistic.
