On April 24, on the eve of the opening of the 2024 Beijing Auto Show, Toyota's mid-to-large sedan, the all-new Crown, was officially launched. The new car was launched in two models, the "Zhixiang Edition" and the "Supreme Edition", with prices of 299,000 yuan and 349,000 yuan, respectively. The all-new Crown is a sedan and sold in China as an original imported model, while continuing the latest design style, it also incorporates some coupe elements, and is equipped with a new 2.5L petrol-electric hybrid system, with a combined fuel consumption of 6.21L per 100 kilometers.

The new Crown vehicle styling basically continues the design style of the crossover version of the model, and at the same time has a clear difference from the traditional classic business design, and incorporates the design elements of the coupe. The grille of the front face is decorated with carved glass and blackened chrome, and is connected to the slender headlights on both sides to form an integrated style, while the front envelope at the bottom adopts a large-size heat dissipation opening style, combined with the waterfall-shaped middle grille, which greatly enhances the aura of the vehicle.

The sides of the body are a reference to the Toyota Mirai's fastback design concept, and have similar proportions and silhouettes, with fine-grained trim strips on the side fenders. The length, width and height of the vehicle are 4930mm / 1840mm / 1540mm, and the wheelbase is 2850mm. At the rear, the car features a sporty Fastback design with a one-line LED light cluster with English lettering underneath the light cluster to make it stand out.

In terms of interior, the new Crown inherits the design ideas of Toyota's flagship models, and uses a large number of solid wood + leather in the material, showing a sense of sophistication and luxury in the touch and branches. The interior of the car is equipped with a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel, a 12.3-inch full-LCD instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch floating center control screen, and an in-vehicle system that is consistent with the Crown SportCross.

The bottom of the screen also retains the mechanical shift lever and a large number of mechanical buttons, which combines a sense of science and technology with practicality. In addition, the new car has a rear comfort mode with a business meet and greet function, and an integrated control screen in the center armrest of the rear seats.

In terms of power, the all-new Crown is equipped with a diesel-electric hybrid (HEV) system consisting of a 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine + electric motor, which is mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The maximum power of the engine is 136kW and the peak torque is 225Nm, while the maximum power and torque of the motor are 131.9kWh and 300Nm, respectively, the acceleration time to 100 kilometers is 8.6s, and the fuel consumption is 6.21L. In addition, the new car is equipped with an adaptive variable suspension system.
