In order to ensure the safety and smoothness of the highway network during the May Day holiday, recently, the Jianhu County Highway Development Center actively used drone technology to carry out road network inspections, timely and accurately grasp the real-time operation status of the highway network in the jurisdiction, and ensure that it provides strong information technology support for the maintenance and smooth work.
On April 23, the UAV squadron of Jianhu Highway Center came to the intersection of S231 line and S233 with large traffic flow, conducted a detailed survey of the road section through UAV, monitored the traffic flow in real time, predicted the possible congestion through data analysis, and formed the "May Day Travel Service Guide" to be released to the society, providing reference for the public to reasonably plan the route for holiday travel and prevent traffic congestion.
The center also carried out high-altitude inspections through UAVs for on-site video and traffic station monitoring equipment. The road network inspection carried out by UAVs has broken through the "shortcomings" and "blind spots" of manual inspections such as high rods and upper span facilities, which can find problems in a timely, effective and accurate manner, improve the efficiency of highway network inspections, and consolidate the foundation of highway safety management.
In the next step, Jianhu County Highway Development Center will continue to increase the use of intelligent technology equipment such as drones in highway network management and inspection, continuously improve the effectiveness of highway management, and make every effort to ensure the safe operation of the road network.
