At INTERMAT 2024丨Liebherr will be presenting alternative drives and various digital solutions

From April 24 to 27, 2024, Liebherr will be presenting around 20 machines in the product areas of tower cranes, mobile and crawler cranes, components, earthmoving machinery, material handling technology, deep foundation machinery and concrete machinery in the Ext 6 C051 area at INTERMAT. In addition to static product presentations, the Group will also focus on its product range and innovation efforts in the areas of digitalization, drives and services.

INTERMAT is a professional trade fair for sustainable building solutions and technologies. With the motto "On your site", the Liebherr Group is always there for its customers wherever they are, whether they are delivering high-quality machines on the construction site or providing tailor-made advice, global services and a comprehensive solution concept.

Digitalization: Customer-centric solutions from planning to maintenance

At Liebherr, digitalization is an important driver of innovation and new product development. On the one hand, it increases the efficiency of the process and thus helps to conserve valuable resources. On the other hand, new information technologies and digital networks offer opportunities for the further development of products and services as well as the implementation of customer-centric solutions throughout the entire customer effort: from planning to operation, performance and maintenance, and even safety-related aspects.

Organizing sales and service locally speeds up response times

Liebherr is committed to establishing a strong local sales and service organization in the countries in which the Group operates. As a result, with a wide range of customer services, the Group has a wide range of operations in places such as France. This is thanks in large part to the Liebherr Distribution et Services France SAS, founded in 2022, which integrates existing sales and service activities within a single company and has an extensive and well-established dealer network throughout France. This creates synergies, simplifies structures and processes, and further increases responsiveness. Shared sales expertise for specific market segments also makes it easier for staff to develop and implement customer-tailored solutions. In this way, Liebherr has further strengthened its relationship with its customers in France, one of the Group's most important sales markets for more than 60 years.

Embracing technology: Electric drives are a key element of the drive series of the future

Another important commitment is the continuous development of drive technology and customer-specific drives that provide maximum power with minimal CO2 emissions. Given the wide variety of applications in the construction industry, a one-size-fits-all solution is not suitable, which is why Liebherr uses different technologies.

For example, the Liduro Power Port, a mobile energy storage system for powering construction sites in remote locations that do not have sufficient electrical infrastructure, is provided by the electrification product program of Liebherr's Component Products division. As a result, hybrid, full hybrid, or all-electric construction machinery and cranes can achieve zero carbon emissions when operating or charging. In this way, Liebherr supports its customers and partners in achieving their economic and ecological goals – the best possible drive for every machine and every application.

The bucket of the Liebherr R972 crawler excavator is filled with auxiliary devices

Presented at the INTERMAT2024 exhibition is a sixth-generation R972 crawler excavator with a working capacity of approximately 72 tonnes. The R972 is unique in its high efficiency, excellent operating comfort and modern design. The machine's low fuel consumption and innovative auxiliary functions make it ideal for the needs of large construction sites and mining sites.

The R972 crawler excavator is equipped with Liebherr's Bucket Filling Assist (BFA). This innovative system developed by Liebherr helps to increase the loading level of the bucket, shorten cycle times and penetrate the material better. In addition to reducing body wear, it reduces fuel consumption by up to 10% and reduces vibration for improved driving comfort.

An assistance system simplifies operation and increases safety: the LRB 23 piling rig

Liebherr's LRB 23 piling drill rig is an all-rounder in the deep foundation sector with an engine output of up to 600 kW. This enables the machine to provide the capabilities required for all common deep base applications. Thanks to its ability to withstand high torques, it is even suitable for rotary drilling – which is unique among machines in its class. The visual design of the LRB 23 makes it easier to lock the telescopic part of the drill pipe. In addition, the concrete pouring process for continuous auger drilling is automated thanks to the drilling assistance function.

Ideal for professional applications: TA 230 Litronic articulated dump trucks

Liebherr is presenting the TA 230 Litronic articulated dump truck at the INTERMAT2024 trade fair. This powerful off-highway equipment is designed to improve operational efficiency in the extractive industry and the transportation of excavated materials. Articulated dump trucks are also useful for large-scale infrastructure projects. Liebherr offers the TA 230 a wide range of advanced driver assistance systems that increase productivity and safety. The innovative standard weighing device records the load weight in real time.

All-electric crane made possible: MK 140-5.1 mobile construction crane

At the INTERMAT exhibition, Liebherr presented the MK 140-5.1, Liebherr's most powerful mobile construction crane with a load capacity of up to 8,000 kg. In addition to its usual use as a trolley jib crane, its special feature lies in the VarioJib: it allows operation in luffing mode with a cantilever length of up to 65 meters. The eco-friendly and future-proof hybrid concept allows the crane to operate fully electrically with an on-site power supply or other external power sources. As a result, the crane works particularly quietly. It is compatible with Liebherr's mobile energy storage system, the Liduro Power Port (LPO), which supplies power to construction sites.

For short jobs: 125 K fast erection crane

The 125 K fast erection crane offers maximum travel capacity but takes up very little space. It is available in a variety of hook heights, which means it can be adjusted according to site conditions, increasing flexibility. The boom length is 55 meters and the hook height can reach about 1.5 meters. With a length of 66 meters, the 125 K is currently the largest fast-installation crane on the market. Well-designed assembly systems and low logistics costs make Liebherr cranes a particularly attractive option for short-term projects.

For applications where noise and emissions must be kept to a minimum: the first electric Liebherr wheel loader, the L 507 E, is born

The group's first electric wheel loader, the L507E, will also be unveiled at Intemat. The machine combines the advantages of Liebherr's classic wheel loaders with Liebherr's in-house developed battery-electric drive concept. The performance of the L 507E is in line with that of Liebherr's conventional powered wheel loaders in its class. With the presentation of the L 507E, Liebherr underlines its commitment to the development of a high-voltage battery system for wheel loader applications, which ensures a powerful and efficient power output as well as efficient loading operations.

Electric concrete mixer truck: ETM 1205

The new ETM series electric drum driven concrete mixer truck, when combined with an electric chassis, achieves zero emissions in the process of transporting concrete. In addition, the process of unloading concrete on the construction site is equally clean and quiet. The ETM series accessories are available in stationary bodywork and semi-trailer form. At Intermat, visitors will have the opportunity to see the all-electric articulated ETM 1205 mixer truck first-hand.

One machine, three drive options: T 33-10 telehandler

International customers using telehandlers and crawler dozers have an extremely wide range of businesses. With an open and inclusive attitude towards technology, Liebherr is presenting the battery-electric T 33-10 telehandler at Intemat 2024. What sets Liebherr telehandlers apart is their ability to flexibly select the drive concept according to the application requirements or market conditions: hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) as a low-emission counterpart or additive to fossil fuels, a battery-electric drive, or a hybrid drive consisting of an internal combustion engine.

First to use VarioBase® technology: The LTR 1150 telescopic crawler crane is making its world premiere

With the development of the LTR 1150, Liebherr has expanded its range of telescopic crawler cranes to cover 150-ton models. Although the new crane has an increase in load capacity of around 50 percent compared to the LTR 1100, it is just as good as its 100-ton counterparts in terms of ease of export and economy: it can be equipped with a complete track frame with a total weight of 60 tons and a transport width of 3.5 meters, or without a track frame with a total weight of only 38 tons and a width of only 3.0 meters. The LTR 1150 is the first telescopic crawler crane to feature Liebherr's VarioBase® technology. This technology enables the crane control system to calculate the optimal load capacity in real time based on the track width and rotation angle. This innovation greatly enhances the safety and work efficiency of the crane in complex working conditions.

36 XXT truck-mounted concrete pump with newly developed pump drive system

The truck-mounted concrete pump of model 36 XXT is not only equipped with a new five-section folding boom, but also adopts a Powerbloc transmission unit and a semi-enclosed hydraulic circuit design. It is a versatile machine that offers numerous comfort and safety features, such as ergonomic steps and simplified access. Its ultra-compact design does not have any boom extension at the rear, making the device extremely maneuverable in tight spaces. One of the highlights of the 36 XXT concrete pump is the newly developed "Powerbloc" pump drive unit, in which all hydraulic switching and measuring cells are fully integrated, which is an important advantage of the pump. This innovative design greatly improves the reliability and ease of maintenance of the system, making the entire pumping process more accurate and efficient.
