Correspondingly, the related research in the field of Triceratopium has gradually become active, and has produced a large number of academic research results with diverse contents, which provides strong scientific and technological support for the basic research and industrial development and utilization of Triceratopium in mainland China. In order to further understand the development context, research status and hot trend of research at home and abroad, this paper adopts bibliometric methods, takes published scientific and technological papers as data samples, and conducts multi-dimensional and diachronic dynamic analysis from keywords, overall output, research subjects and cooperation networks, etc., so as to provide reference and reference for future research expansion and industry-research cooperation.

Research data and methods

The statistics of foreign literature are from the core collection of papers in the Web of Science database sCI/SSCI, the search keyword is "Bougainvillea", the time span is 1900~2023, and the literature types include Article and Review. Chinese literature is based on the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) database, considering the diversity of Chinese names of species, the search term is fuzzy search of "triangular plum" or "azalea" or "baojin flower" or "bougainvillea", and the search range is periodical literature from 1995~2023. After manually cleaning and eliminating duplicate literature, noisy literature and divergent literature, Citespace6.2.R6 software was used for algorithm analysis and visual presentation.

An overview of domestic research based on CNKI

The annual distribution and change of the number of literature can reflect the research scale, development level, development speed and attention of the field to a certain extent, which is an important indicator to measure the research development of the field. According to the statistics of CNKI, 308 valid papers were published, of which 254 were published in 2010~2023. After 2010, the number of papers has shown rapid growth, and the annual number of papers in 2013~2023 is 13~30, which is consistent with the development trend of the mainland triangle plum industry.

The first rapid growth period is 2010~2013, during this period, the mainland triangle plum industry started and grew rapidly, scientific research attention from scratch, this stage of research is mostly related to seedling production, cultivation management and other application technologies, reflecting the urgent need for practical technology in the early stage of the industry. The second period of rapid growth is 2020~2021, the demand for seedlings for large-scale greening projects in China has decreased sharply, while the demand for theme parks, urban landscapes, cultural and tourism attractions, individual consumption and other needs has increased, which has put forward higher requirements for the variety characteristics, product types, cultivation and production and application maintenance of Triangle Plum. The report on the molecular basis of stress resistance and important ornamental traits, these scientific and technological developments will provide more help for the high-quality development of the triangular plum industry.

An overview of domestic and international research based on WOS

A total of 483 articles were published from 73 countries after data cleaning, indicating that it is widely distributed in the world and has received widespread attention. The publication year spans from 1930 to 2023, and it has been published since 2000, and the explosive growth time and trend are almost the same as those in the mainland. Among them, there are 17 countries with more than 10 published papers.

Only 8 countries have more than 20 papers, and the average number of papers per year is generally low, indicating that most countries have not formed a stable professional research team, and the lack of continuity of research is fundamentally determined by the level of social and economic development, industrial status and demand of different countries. As of 2023, mainland researchers have published 79 research papers in international journals, accounting for 13% of the total international history, and 14 papers have been published in mainland Taiwan, accounting for about 2%, and the cumulative number has surpassed India (89 papers, accounting for 14%), which has a long history of triangular plum research and many institutions, ranking first in the world. In the past 5 years (2019~2023), the number of papers published by mainland researchers has accounted for 17.1%~42.9% of the annual increase in the international market, and it has become a well-deserved emerging research center of Triangle Plum.

In terms of the keywords and burst word frequency of WOS papers, unlike the mainland research that focuses on the field of landscape horticulture, the international research field of Triangle plum is more extensive, and the research papers are published in botany, agronomy, horticulture, and forestry journals, and a large number of results are reported in medical, chemical, and ecological journals. Many studies have shown that in addition to the characteristics of ornamental, disease and insect resistance, heat and drought resistance, it also has the functions of dust retention, exhaust gas pollution resistance, and soil heavy metal enrichment, which can be used for soil remediation and environmental and ecological management, and its extracts can be used as nanochemical industrial materials, food pigments, natural drugs for cancer and antibacterial, and biological pesticides for the prevention and control of crop diseases and pests. In short, it has the potential for comprehensive development and utilization, and it is worthy of domestic researchers and enterprises to study and explore more fields.

Discussion and Explanation

The research on P. continental has experienced a slow rise period and a fluctuating development period in the early stage, and is currently in a rapidly rising boom stage, and has been in a core position in the study of woody crops. However, on the whole, the history of research in this field is relatively short, except for a few institutions in traditional industrial areas that have performed outstandingly, and have formed relatively stable research teams and research characteristics through years of continuous research, most of the rest are emerging research institutions, and there are few breakthrough achievements, so it is necessary to build a stable talent team to maintain the continuity of research.

The interdisciplinary and intra-field exchanges and cooperation between research subjects need to be strengthened. From the perspective of the academic achievements published in cooperation, the main academic cooperation circles of Triangle Mei are mostly concentrated in the range of their respective geographical locations, the cross-provincial cooperation is relatively weak, the interaction between scientific research institutes and practitioners, and between domestic institutes and foreign institutions is limited, and a wide range of cooperative relations and academic communities have not yet been formed. Therefore, in order to promote the comprehensive and in-depth development of the research field of Triceratopus and promote the exchange, sharing and linkage of resources and information, in addition to holding large-scale commercial promotion forums and seminars, it is also necessary to organize and mobilize more interactive exchanges under the drive of the dominant forces of Triceratopus in China.
