Snapdragon X Plus Platform Launched: Same Peak Performance Power Consumption 54% Lower than Intel Ultra 7

Sina Digital News reported on the evening of April 24 that following the Snapdragon X Elite, Qualcomm reissued the PC processor X Plus platform, whose multi-threaded performance exceeds Apple's M3 chip by 10%, and the power consumption of the same peak performance is 54% lower than that of Intel Ultra 7, and it is expected to be launched on commercial terminals in mid-2024.

The Snapdragon X Plus is built on a 4nm process technology that keeps pace with the Snapdragon X Elite. Its Qualcomm Oryon CPU has 10 custom high-performance cores, with a maximum clock speed of up to 3.4GHz and a total cache of up to 42MB. Officially, it is 10% ahead of Apple's M3 processor in CPU performance.

In Geekbench multithreaded testing, the Snapdragon X Plus outperformed the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H in terms of performance, using 54% less power than the competition at the same peak performance. This means that the Snapdragon X Plus delivers high performance while also using less energy, making the device more durable.

In terms of graphics, the Snapdragon X Plus delivers a 36% GPU performance lead over the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H at the same power consumption in the WildLife Extreme test, while the power consumption of the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H at the same peak performance is only half that of the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H.

Like the Snapdragon X Elite, the Snapdragon X Plus is capable of 45TOPS of computing power through the integrated NPU. This makes Snapdragon X Plus have strong application potential in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and other fields, bringing more intelligent and personalized features and services to users.

In addition, the Snapdragon X Plus also has class-leading performance and capabilities in other subsystems. It supports external three-screen ultra-high-definition 4K 60Hz display and supports HDR10. In terms of connectivity, the Snapdragon X Plus supports technologies such as Wi-Fi 7, high-frequency concurrent multi-connection, and 5G connectivity with sub-6GHz and mmWave speeds of up to 10GB/s. In terms of imaging, the Snapdragon X Plus supports 18-bit dual ISP and MIPI cameras. In terms of audio, the Snapdragon X Plus supports Snapdragon Sound features, including Bluetooth 5.4 audio transmission, and more.

The Snapdragon X Plus platform, as well as the previously announced X Elite, will be unveiled at Computex in June, and commercial devices powered by the Snapdragon X Elite and Snapdragon X Plus platforms are expected to be available in the middle of this year.
