On the afternoon of April 22, a unique lecture was held at Shanghai Luwan Senior High School (hereinafter referred to as "Luwan High School"). Ni Minjing, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and director of the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum, brought "brainstorming" to the students of Luwan High School with the theme of "Every Child Has the Potential to Become a Top-notch Innovative Talent".

This event is one of more than 10 lectures in the thirteenth season of the "Oriental Forum, Ideas Light Up the Future" series sponsored by the Shanghai Federation of Social Sciences (hereinafter referred to as "Shanghai Federation of Social Sciences"). Since 2016, the series has held more than 200 lectures with more than 100,000 students participating. Social science experts and scholars have been on campus for eight consecutive years, coming to the side of young people, bringing a feast of humanities and social sciences to primary and secondary school students in Shanghai, and this year's project won the third prize of the 12th Shanghai Science Education Innovation Award "Science Popularization Achievement Award".

"Innovation is not only about inventing new things or finding new ways to solve problems, but more importantly, it is about having the spirit of independent thinking and daring to challenge authority. At the lecture at Luwan High School, Ni Minjing cited a large number of data and examples to describe the important role of scientific and technological innovation in the development of the country and society, "Only in a relaxed and free learning environment can students give full play to their imagination and creativity, and have the courage to challenge the boundaries of known knowledge." At the end of the lecture, Ni Minjing interacted with the students and answered everyone's questions one by one.

At the event, Li Yiping, Vice Chairman of the China Welfare Association and Chairman of the 6th Council of Shanghai Soong Ching Ling Foundation, and Wang Weisong, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Full-time Vice Chairman of the Shanghai Federation of Social Affairs, presented books to the student representatives. Ni Minjing, member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and director of the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum, and Li Yuan, vice chairman of the Huangpu District CPPCC, presented popular science books to the students who asked questions on the spot.

It is reported that this lecture aims to stimulate the students' innovative spirit and tap their innovation potential. In the future, the "Oriental Forum, Thought Lights Up the Future" lecture series will continue to carry the power of ideas and walk with young people, and achieve tomorrow's inheritance with today's communication.
