Media Coverage | Cultural revitalization unleashes new momentum for rural tourism

Xinhua News Agency, Nanchang (Reporter Wang Xiaopeng, Chen Yushan, Ren Yaoyuan) Farmhouse was once synonymous with rural tourism in the mainland, focusing on being close to nature. With the continuous advancement of the rural revitalization strategy, more and more rural cultures have been "activated", the exposure of intangible cultural heritage has been continuously improved, and red resources have been better utilized...... Cultural inheritance and innovation have made the long-standing agricultural civilization shine with new light in the new era.

You can see the nostalgia

In the afternoon, 66-year-old Yu Zhiliang sat in the restaurant of his homestay, picked up a cup of black tea produced in the village, and told reporters: "In the past, people in the village had to go far away to make money, but now they have a 'tourist meal', and they can have a good income by sitting at home." ”

Yu Zhiliang has worked hard in Shenzhen for 32 years and recently decided to return to Shimen Natural Village, Wang Village, Qiukou Town, Wuyuan County, Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province. Stone Gate Fang, Gate God Stone Drum, Figure Brick Carving, Glass Courtyard...... Yu Zhiliang's B&B not only retains the classic appearance of the white walls and Daiwa Matou walls of the Hui style houses, but also uses modern architectural elements such as floor-to-ceiling windows and elevators. "I incorporate modern elements into traditional house design, which not only remembers nostalgia, but also makes it more comfortable to live in. He said.

Shimen Village's respect for traditional culture is multifaceted. "When you see the elderly, you respect them, and when you see the young, you love them", "The teacher is more expensive than courtesy, and making friends is more expensive than faith"...... In front of every house, there is a motto of the sages to self-cultivation and self-cultivation. The beautiful ecology of the local river running around the village, coupled with these rural cultural elements, attracts an endless stream of tourists to check in.

About half an hour's drive from Shimen Village, Wuyuan Huangling Village is a world-class "Internet celebrity" attraction and was selected as one of the "Best Tourist Villages" by the United Nations World Tourism Organization last year. In this ancient village with a history of nearly 600 years, traditional folk customs have been "reborn". Huangling basking in autumn, banlong lantern parade, and printing rice cake making display...... On the blackboard of Huangling Heavenly Street, the daily characteristic folk customs and local culture programs are full, and visitors can watch and immerse themselves in the local culture of Wuyuan. Cheng Hong, a staff member of the scenic spot, said that this summer plans to add cultural activities such as the Wuyuan Lantern Parade.

In Shenshan Village, Maoping Town, deep in Jinggang Mountain, Jiangxi, playing glutinous rice is a major folk feature. The research group from Shanghai surrounded the stone mortar at the door of the villager Zuo Xiangyun's house, and you slammed me with a hammer, reciting the local proverb in their mouths: "The more you beat the glutinous rice cakes, the stickier and stickier your life is." Driven by projects such as folk customs experience, the tourism industry of Shenshan Village has continued to develop, accelerating the pace of rural revitalization. A few years ago, there were only about 20 people left behind in Shenshan Village, but now there are about 170 permanent residents. Peng Zhanyang, secretary of the party branch of Shenshan Village, said: "In 2023, the per capita disposable income of the village will exceed 30,000 yuan, nearly 11 times that of 2015. ”

Intangible Cultural Heritage "Comes to Life"

Likeng Village is one of the earliest scenic spots in Wuyuan to carry out rural tourism. Walking along the streamside path from the entrance of the village, the rich aroma of green tea comes to your nose. The tea maker picks up a handful of green fresh leaves from the bamboo strip plate and puts them into the iron pot, constantly turning them with his hands, and the fresh tea leaves sizzle in the pot, attracting tourists from all over the world to stop and watch.

In the ancient building of the Hui school on the other side, Li Shuwen, a "post-90s" generation, is using a knife to write and carve new works on bamboo pieces. As a representative inheritor of Huizhou bamboo carving, an intangible cultural heritage project, Li Shuwen began to learn bamboo carving skills as a teenager. "In the past two years, the consumer group of bamboo carving products has become younger and younger. Li Shuwen said.

In Huangling Village, a more than 800-year-old Jialu oil-paper umbrella supports the quaint romance of Wuyuan rural tourism, and has become an indispensable trendy item for many tourists when checking in. A few years ago, Cao Wenjuan, a local of Wuyuan, opened an oil-paper umbrella shop in Huangling, and at the same time showed tourists the simple craft of making paper umbrellas, a national intangible cultural heritage. She said that at most, the shop can sell more than 100 oil-paper umbrellas a day, and her income is several times that of her part-time job in Wenzhou.

Zha Yonghong, the representative inheritor of Zheyuan Cha's winemaking skills, has opened shops in scenic spots such as Wuyuan Shimen Village, Likeng Village and Huangling Village. He innovated and upgraded the intangible cultural heritage winemaking technology, absorbed and borrowed a variety of brewing techniques, and a variety of new wines were loved by tourists. "Intangible cultural heritage skills need to be creatively inherited and developed. Zha Yonghong said that the purpose of opening the store in the village is to bring the skills closer to tourists.

In recent years, Wuyuan County has continued to promote the introduction of intangible cultural heritage into scenic spots, making rural tourism more attractive. From January to March this year, Wuyuan County received 7.97 million tourists, an increase of 2.8% over the same period in 2023.

Red Research "Heat"

The red research group of thousands of people from Shenzhen Science High School recently came to Maoping Town, Jinggangshan, to pursue the red footprints. More than 90 years ago, the Chinese Communists opened up a revolutionary road in Jinggangshan of "encircling the city from the countryside and seizing power by force".

Sixteen-year-old Chen Pinxu paused for a long time at the slogan on one wall of the old revolutionary site group of the Octagonal Tower. "Coming to this land and re-walking the path of the Red Army can better understand the difficulties of that time and cherish the life now. He said.

"In recent years, red research has become more and more popular. Primary and secondary school students live in farmhouses, do farm work, eat Red Army meals, and walk the Long March in Jinggangshan, immersing themselves in history and experiencing rural life, which can directly touch people's hearts. Xiao Xuemei, the tour guide, introduced that she receives more than 10 large red research groups like this a year.

Through the launch of a series of red tourism integration development measures, Jinggangshan has embarked on a development path of better use of red resources to promote rural tourism, receiving 573 batches of research teams in 2023, with a total of 198,600 people. Zhufang Village in Ruijin, Jiangxi Province, is only across the river from the former site of the Provisional Central Government of the Chinese Soviet Republic. After the revitalization of red resources, the village has become an "Internet celebrity village" for rural tourism. Zhu Jingwei, an 86-year-old villager, said he never imagined that his rough house would generate tens of thousands of yuan a year after being turned into a homestay.

In recent years, Ganzhou City, which is rich in red resources, has made full use of digital technology to improve the quality of red research. In the Ruijin Yeping Revolutionary Site Group, visitors can immerse themselves in the scene of the "One Soviet Congress" through naked-eye 3D technology. "The intelligent commentator puts on the red army uniform and restores the red history with animation, and science and technology make the red research more colorful. Huang Lufen, a docent of the Yeping Revolutionary Site Group, said.
