April 25 to May 1, 2024 is the 22nd National Occupational Disease Prevention and Control Law Publicity Week, with the theme of "Adhering to Prevention First, Protecting Occupational Health".
In order to thoroughly publicize and implement the Law on the Prevention and Treatment of Occupational Diseases, promote employers to implement the main responsibility for the prevention and treatment of occupational diseases, protect the occupational health rights and interests of workers, and help Changsha to create a national health city, on April 24, the launching ceremony of the 2024 Occupational Disease Prevention and Control Law Publicity Week in Kaifu District and the occupational health training of employers were successfully held in Huayue Sunshine Hotel.
The event was guided by the Kaifu District Health Promotion Committee and the Kaifu District Office of the Leading Group for the Creation of a National Health City, hosted by the Kaifu District Health Bureau, undertaken by the Kaifu District Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Kaifu District Health Comprehensive Supervision and Law Enforcement Bureau), and co-organized by the sub-district offices in the district.
The leaders and experts who attended the event included Hunan Provincial Occupational Disease Prevention and Control Institute, Changsha Municipal Health Commission, Changsha Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Kaifu District Health Bureau, Kaifu District Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and relevant responsible comrades of various sub-district offices attended the event. Nearly 200 people, including the responsible comrades of the community health service centers and the heads of the employers, participated in the meeting.
At the event, the person in charge of the Kaifu District Bureau of Disease Control and Prevention reviewed the prevention and control of occupational diseases in Kaifu District in 2023, pointed out that the current occupational disease prevention and control work in Kaifu District will meet new challenges, and has a clear direction for the occupational prevention and control work in 2024. At the same time, we call on all levels and departments, social organizations and people from all walks of life to take joint action to care for the health of workers and jointly prevent occupational diseases.
Then, the leaders of the Changsha Municipal Health Commission announced the launch of the series of activities of the 2024 "Occupational Disease Prevention and Control Law" Publicity Week in Kaifu District, kicking off the activities. In this event, a number of healthy enterprises in Kaifu District were also commended and medals were awarded, and Changsha Uni-President Enterprise Co., Ltd., as a representative of outstanding enterprises, shared its work experience in healthy enterprises and Chuangwei.
During the training stage, a total of 4 experts from the Hunan Provincial Institute for Occupational Disease Prevention and Control and the Changsha Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention were invited to give lectures on how employers should implement the main responsibility of occupational diseases and the relevant content of the Occupational Disease Prevention and Control Law. After the training, the participants were tested for their occupational health ability, and those who passed the test will receive an occupational health training qualification certificate.
In the next step, Kaifu District will also carry out publicity activities on the prevention and treatment of occupational diseases in Shaping Street and Qingzhuhu Street, carry out face-to-face education on occupational health knowledge, the Law on the Prevention and Treatment of Occupational Diseases, and the identification of occupational hazards, and carry out free health clinics, so as to further increase workers' awareness of occupational diseases.
This series of activities aims to advocate the whole society to pay attention to and participate in the prevention and treatment of occupational diseases, widely publicize the knowledge of occupational disease prevention and control, improve the awareness of prevention and treatment of enterprises and workers, and form good business behaviors, so as to achieve the purpose of protecting the health and interests of enterprises and workers.
