Kan Hongliu, female, born in 1973, Han nationality. A native of Liaoning, he holds a doctorate in history. He is currently an associate professor at the Institute of Qing History of Renmin University of Chinese, former deputy director of the Institute of Qing History, executive deputy director of the Qing Dynasty Royal Garden Research Center, and director of the Chinese Yuanmingyuan Society. He is mainly engaged in the teaching and scientific research of the academic history of Qing Dynasty academic thought, historical philology, and Qing Dynasty imperial gardens.

The Story of the Old Summer Palace

The Old Summer Palace, the "Garden of Ten Thousand Gardens", is a window to gain an in-depth understanding of the history of the Qing Dynasty, court life, and royal gardens. Based on historical materials, this book selects materials related to the Old Summer Palace from the documents and archives of the Qing Dynasty to write historical stories, and is divided into three units: "The Emperor and Empress in the Imperial Garden", "Range Rover Reminiscences of Old News" and "How Many People and Things", with a total of more than 30 articles. Bringing together many scholars of Qing history, we will talk about the story of the Old Summer Palace, which is closer to history, and systematically introduce the garden life of different groups of people in the Old Summer Palace, such as emperors and concubines, courtiers, Western missionaries, palace guards, etc., as well as the content of festivals and customs, court and government celebrations, garden landscapes, etc., leading readers to pursue the lost "Garden of Ten Thousand Gardens" together.
