On 24 April, the "Athlete Career Development Workshop" training and exchange and sharing activity organized by the Champion Fund was held in Hefei City, Anhui Province, where more than 40 retired athletes from Rio Olympic champion Meng Suping gathered to discuss the topic of career planning.

Sun Yu, a rower and national athlete, said frankly that starting a business after retirement will face many problems, involving renting, decoration, personnel construction, internal operations, management, curriculum design and other aspects, "every link is facing great challenges."
Sun Yu's speech resonated with many retired athletes. In the face of the common confusion of retired athletes, the "Athlete Career Development Workshop" helps retired athletes in their career planning through theme sharing, roundtable dialogues, athlete career planning lectures, athlete career development private board meetings, and free exchanges.
"Since 2014, China's sports industry has developed rapidly, and the career development of athletes has also entered a new stage. The challenge of career development and transformation of athletes today is not a question of survival, but a question of how to develop. Sun Xiaofeng, Secretary-General of the Champion Fund, said frankly that retired athletes urgently need to strengthen career planning and all-round ability improvement to tap their personal potential and social value.
According to reports, the "Athlete Career Development Workshop" is to help athletes improve their self-awareness, find their own positioning, and do a good job in career and life planning by providing them with career planning training, job search guidance, career development consulting, resource docking and other support services.
"At the same time, it is also to build a platform to bring all aspects of resources and good experience and practices at home and abroad to retired athletes from all over the world. Sun Xiaofeng said that he hopes to organize activities such as workshops to connect athletes with each other, form a close community, communicate with each other, motivate each other, share resources, and help personal development and the development of local sports.
The Champion Fund is a sports public welfare organization initiated by Yang Yang, the first Winter Olympic champion in mainland China and vice president of the World Anti-Doping Agency, aiming to focus on athletes' career development and youth sports education. The "Athlete Career Development Workshop" initiated by the fund has been held in Beijing, Tianjin, Wuhan, Nanjing, Chengdu, Shenzhen, Guangzhou and other cities.
