01 AIDS

Syphilis is listed as a disease in the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Treatment of Infectious Diseases.

AIDS and syphilis have a common transmission route, Treponema pallidum and HIV co-infection is more common, HIV infection leads to a decline in human immune function, making treponema pallidum more likely to take advantage of the weakness.

Factors such as pubic erosions, rashes, and skin ulcers caused by Treponema pallidum greatly increase the chance of contracting HIV during unprotected sex. Co-infection with Treponema pallidum in HIV-infected people and patients can be as high as 30%.

Among them, men who have sex with men have the highest incidence of treponema pallidum and HIV co-infection. Therefore, syphilis should be tested at the same time as HIV, and HIV should be tested at the same time as syphilis.
People with high-risk sexual behavior should raise their awareness of active testing for syphilis and AIDS, and staff in health care institutions should take the initiative to provide joint testing and counseling services for HIV and syphilis to patients with sexually transmitted diseases.
Mode of transmission
There are three ways of transmission of AIDS: sexual transmission, blood transmission, and mother-to-child transmission, and daily contact is not contagious.

Syphilis increases the risk of HIV infection. Syphilis infection in AIDS patients may alter the clinical manifestations of syphilis, worsen the clinical damage of syphilis and accelerate the progression of syphilis disease.
Physical injuries are different
Syphilis causes less physical damage than AIDS.

In order to effectively prevent sexual transmission of syphilis and AIDS, unprotected unsafe sex should be avoided, and 100% condom use should be achieved during high-risk sexual behavior;
Spouses or sexual partners should be invited to do a joint test for Treponema pallidum and HIV;
