On the morning of April 23, the launching ceremony of the 2024 World Book Day and the National Reading Series of Activities in Jinbi Street, Xishan District was held in Dianchi Book City. The purpose of the activity is to inherit and carry forward the fine tradition of "respecting literature and education, and passing on poetry and books", solidly promote the reading work of the whole people, promote the construction of a scholarly society, and create a good atmosphere of reading more, reading good books, and being good at reading.
More than 100 people, including the secretary and propaganda committee of the party branch of Jinbi Street and various communities, the representative of the principal of primary and secondary schools in Xishan District, all the party members of Xishan Branch of Kunming Xinhua Bookstore Chain Co., Ltd., the primary school affiliated to Kunming No. 1 Middle School, Chongxin Primary School in Xishan District, and the student representatives of Dianchi Campus of Kunming No. 3 Middle School attended the launching ceremony.
At the launching ceremony, the volunteer representative read out the "National Reading Initiative", advocating that all walks of life join the ranks of reading, comprehend the true meaning of life, experience the value of life, and practice the pursuit of life in the book. Subsequently, the representatives of the residents of Yanjiadi Community in Jinbi Street shared the good book "The Sea of Life".
At the scene, students from the Affiliated Primary School of Kunming No. 1 Middle School and Chongxin Primary School, as well as the choir of Dianchi Campus of Kunming No. 3 Middle School, respectively brought classic recitation, dance, chorus and other performances. In the classic recitation of "Lovely China as You Wish", the readers are full of energy, or impassioned, sonorous and powerful, or the tone is peaceful, affectionate and euphemistic, integrating the true feelings into the recitation, expressing the feeling of reading with words, and conveying cultural power with sound. In the red repertoire "The Last Speech", the performers led everyone to relive the red memory with a passionate voice, stimulated the ambition to serve the country, and let the audience accept the edification of the red classic culture, deepen the understanding of the red classic culture, better inherit the red gene, and continue the red blood. After the launching ceremony, all the participants also visited the Yunnan Publishing Edition Museum to learn more about the development process of book editing, printing and distribution.
It is worth mentioning that the "Spring Book Market" placed in the square in front of the Dianchi Book City is also very popular with the citizens. There are more than 10 unique booths with a variety of books and cultural and creative products for sale.
This series of activities not only allowed the citizens of the jurisdiction to experience the fun of reading, sharing and exchange, but also promoted the prosperity and development of Jinbi street culture. At the same time, it has also increased the importance of paper books and made reading a way of life.
