On April 23, Jimu News learned from Wuhan Huazhong Art School that Qu Yongzhao, a 25-year-old dormitory manager of the school, was admitted to Hubei University for Nationalities as a graduate student in physical education, and completed the transformation of a soldier and dormitory manager to a master's degree in three years.
He has been commended twice in the army
Qu Yongzhao studied at the College of Engineering and Technology of Hubei University of Technology during his undergraduate studies. "Since I was a child, I have liked to watch military-themed film and television works, admired the bravery and greatness of soldiers, and longed for military camp life, and I also planned to enlist in the army as soon as I graduated from college. Qu Yongzhao told reporters that he was in his third year of college in 2020 and suddenly changed his plans.
"At the beginning of that year, the sudden epidemic disrupted everyone's lives, and I was deeply moved to see many medical workers and soldiers rushing to the front line of rescue to protect the people during the days of online classes at home. Qu Yongzhao said that as a hot-blooded young man, he also wants to contribute his own strength. In June 2020, the news of the Sino-Indian border conflict came to strengthen Qu Yongzhao's determination to defend his family and country.
Two years of military life tempered Qu Yongzhao's tenacious will and improved his physical fitness. "I don't believe that there are difficulties that cannot be overcome, and I do not believe that there are enemies that cannot be defeated" became the belief he insisted on. With the strength and hard work of not admitting defeat, Qu Yongzhao won the brigade-level honorary commendation twice.
In the barracks, a comrade-in-arms who fought side by side was a graduate student of Central China Normal University, and under the influence of his comrades-in-arms, Qu Yongzhao came up with the idea of going to graduate school for further study. Qu Yongzhao officially retired from the army in September 2022, and in the face of new challenges in social and career development, he decided to pick up his books again and aim at the "Special Master's Degree Enrollment Program for Retired College Students and Soldiers" to meet the challenges of postgraduate entrance examination.

On the eve of graduation, Qu Yongzhao went to Wuhan Huazhong Art School for an internship, and after graduation, he became the school's life teacher and dormitory manager, participating in student code of conduct, safety inspection, dormitory management, discipline management, emergency handling and other work.
Influenced by the discipline of the army, Qu Yongzhao required that each dormitory should have a sense of community and unity, and cultivate the concept of "one glory and one loss" in the details. "The boys' dormitory I am responsible for has a total of 15 dormitories and 95 students, all of whom are in their third year of high school, and adolescents are prone to mood swings. ”
Mei Zhangyang, a student, said: "Lao Qu usually has detailed requirements for the hygiene of our dormitory, the placement of supplies, and the making of beds and quilts. But when a classmate was sick, he was also the first to ask for warmth and help buy medicine. Qu Yongzhao communicated with him for the first time, and used his own personal experience to teach students to cherish learning opportunities and be responsible for their own lives.
Mr. Qu was a role model and conscientious, and the school also handed over the guidance of the National Flag Guard to him. Under his guidance, the students' movement standards and spiritual temperament have been greatly improved, and his daily training and guidance have cultivated the students' patriotism. "It is true that there were a few times late at night when I saw the lights on in his dormitory, and he was flipping through books, but he didn't think about the graduate school entrance examination at all, and he didn't delay his daily work at all. Vice Principal Han Yongqiang said that it wasn't until Mr. Qu took the graduate school transcript to the school for a seal that the school knew that he had been working silently. Han Yongqiang said that the school often holds teaching and training activities, and establishes a teacher promotion reward mechanism to encourage teachers to study further, "The pursuit of self-motivated teachers can teach students who love learning and pursue progress." ”
