At 10 o'clock today (April 24), the case of "an 8-year-old boy beaten to death by a martial arts instructor" in Qingdao, Shandong Province was tried in the Qingdao Intermediate People's Court. The prosecution indicted three defendants, Zhang Moubin, Zhang Mouhao, and Li Mouding, for the crime of intentional injury.

More than 10 months have passed since the incident, and Mr. Zhai, the father of the boy Qiqi, revealed that the child has not yet been buried, and "the child can only be buried after the murderer gets the punishment they deserve."

On the 22nd, Mr. Zhai told reporters from Nandu about the incident. He said that at first, he was attracted to sign up by the cultural class counseling of the club involved, and the other party claimed that "no matter how bad your child's foundation is, there will be qualitative changes in us." But he didn't expect that the child would have an accident the second time he went to class. Mr. Zhai revealed, "(The child's) mother collapsed and couldn't get out." He has now found a job as a courier to support his family, leaving his five-year-old daughter in the care of his grandfather. He will attend the trial, and "I still don't know what happened to my child at that time."

The video shows the child feeling weak and falling to the ground.

"Claiming to make a qualitative change in the grades of cultural classes"

"Now I'm the only one at work, and the child's mother is completely broken down and can't get out. On April 22, Mr. Zhai revealed to a reporter from Nandu that the child went to the club for the second time.

Around April 2023, Qingdao Chongde Juying Martial Arts Sports Club opened a new campus in the next village, and the club distributed a large number of leaflets in the surrounding villages, and used "martial arts teaching", "cultural class counseling" and "accommodation and accommodation" as selling points to create publicity.

So, on the morning of June 10, Mr. Zhai took his children to participate in the school's experience class, "just to watch the children's martial arts performance". Mr. Zhai was actually attracted by cultural tutoring, "Qiqi usually procrastinates in writing homework", and he hopes to improve his children's cultural class performance through extracurricular tutoring, and martial arts classes are not what he cares about. "They say that no matter how bad your child's foundation is, there will be a qualitative change with us. ”

After the experience class, Mr. Zhai immediately paid the registration fee for one year's class, a total of 7,680 yuan, and the class time was winter and summer vacations, as well as normal Saturdays and Sundays. "This is just tuition, and you need to pay an additional 100 yuan per day for room and board. ”

"Looking back, I had to pay close to 20,000 yuan a year, which was really high, but at that time, I just thought about it for the good of the child, so I didn't think too much about it. Mr. Zhai said that the campus is a new branch campus of the club, and the number of students is not large. As a result, the children will be sent by school buses to the campus in Chengyang District, where Qiqi's accident occurred.

The Chengyang campus is about a 30-minute drive from Mr. Zhai's family's address. When Qiqi went to study for the first time, Mr. Zhai and his wife were not relieved, so they asked the teacher at the club to report to them about the child's situation. After Qiqi returned from class during the first week, there was nothing unusual about it, and he also showed his parents interest in the experience because of the novelty.

"The child had an accident the second time he went to class"

However, on June 18 last year, when Qiqi came to the club for the second time, an accident quietly struck.

At around 12:40 that day, the owner of the club, Shi Mou, sent a video saying, "Do your children usually do this at home? In the video, a man puts Qiqi on a bench, he looks weak and collapses to the ground due to unsteady sitting. After Mr. Zhai's wife saw the video, she found that the child's face was pale and his arms were black, thinking that it was a problem with the light, so she didn't pay much attention to it, but still reminded Shi that he needed to pay attention to the child's physical condition.

"The coach was next to him to shoot a video, and he was not sent to the hospital in time for treatment. At that time, the children should still have a breath of air, and they are still posing there. ”

At around 13:50, Shi sent a video again, saying, "Your child can't wake up." Mr. Zhai and his wife were very anxious after seeing the video, and they immediately called back to inquire about the situation, but they could not call Shi again.

"At that time, the school only said that it couldn't wake up, and it hadn't been sent to the hospital yet. Subsequently, Mr. Zhai and his wife immediately drove to the club, and when they arrived, the other party called again, saying that the child had been sent to the hospital and was being rescued.

The two hurried to the hospital again. Shi and the coach were present, Shi squatted on the hospital floor and cried, and Mr. Zhai and his wife repeatedly asked him about the specific reason for the child's accident, but the other party never answered positively.

Later, the doctor told them that Qiqi had lost her heartbeat and breathing 20 minutes before she was taken to the hospital. Mr. Zhai had a special test afterwards, from the club to the hospital, it takes 10 minutes to drive slowly, and only 5 minutes if it is fast.

Mr. Zhai told reporters from Nandu that the autopsy report later showed that Qi Qi had "suffered extensive soft tissue contusions caused by multiple blows with blunt objects, resulting in traumatic shock and death from pulmonary fat embolism."

On June 26 of the same year, the Chengyang Branch of the Qingdao Municipal Public Security Bureau issued a notice stating that at about 14 o'clock on the 18th, a case of intentional injury occurred in a martial arts sports club in Chengyang District, resulting in the death of one person. After the case was discovered, the public security organs quickly seized the three criminal suspects, including the person in charge of the martial arts sports club, and have now taken criminal coercive measures in accordance with the law. Further investigation is ongoing.

Three coaches were indicted on charges of intentional injury

After the incident, Mr. Zhai contacted the parents of several students in the club to find out the situation. "Many parents said that their children also had bruises on their bodies after returning home, but they felt that the injuries were not particularly serious, and they felt acceptable and did not pursue them. Every child has to go through this experience, and the coach may beat the student in order to tame the child and achieve the goal of letting the child do whatever they want. ”

Mr. Zhai recalled to the reporter that Qi Qi was a very obedient child before his death, lively but docile, very good at taking care of his sister, and acting as a "warm man" around them. Usually when the brother and sister are naughty, his sister often does it, but he never fights back, only complains to his mother, and sometimes the school will give out some fruits, milk, and bread in the afternoon, and he will take them home to share with his sister.

Before the accident, Mr. Zhai and his wife opened a farm at home, selling pheasants and eggs, "but now I can't do it, and my mother has collapsed and can't get out." Mr. Zhai has now found a job as a courier to support his family, leaving his 5-year-old daughter in the care of his grandfather.

Mr. Zhai revealed that the child has not yet been buried, and "the child can only be buried after the murderer gets the punishment they deserve."

The case was heard at 10 a.m. today (April 24). The prosecution previously indicted three defendants, Zhang Moubin, Zhang Mouhao, and Li Mouding, for the crime of intentional injury.

Mr. Zhai said that he would attend the trial at that time, and "I still don't know what happened to the child at that time."
