From 2002 to 2021, there was a surge in the number of recreational facilities owned by Koreans in Mongolia. At one time, there were more than 300 wild places in Mongolia.
These illegal establishments generate not only 5 billion Mongolian tugriks in legal revenue, but also 80 billion tugriks (about 300 million US dollars) in black revenue. Most of the money was transferred back to South Korea to support the living expenses of Koreans and boost the Korean economy.
Korean men are almost acting in a standard process. They took a Korean flight directly from the airport in South Korea to Mongolia, where they were received by local Koreans.
