The League of Legends 2024 LPL Summer Regular Season adopts a new format, with global BP in some stages

IT Home reported on April 24 that League of Legends officially announced today that the "League of Legends" 2024LPL Summer Season regular season will introduce a new competition system, which is divided into 4 stages, including 3 event stages, of which the fixed group stage adopts the Dreadnought Draft (global BP) mode.

According to IT House, there are currently 17 participating teams in the League of Legends LPL League, and the 2024 Spring Season regular season adopts the BO3 single round-robin 17-in-10 format.

The regular season of the summer season in the future will be divided into four stages: draw group, group match, group match, and place grabbing match.

Draw grouping phase

The 17 teams will be divided into 4 seeding pools based on their Spring Split results.

According to the principle of home avoidance, the 4 home teams will be divided into four different groups A, B, C, and D by lot, and then the group of other teams will be determined by lot, and each group will be guaranteed to have 4 seeded teams through parallel grouping.

(3 groups of 4 teams, 1 group of 5 teams)

Set the stage of the group stage

In this stage, the Dreadnought Call-up (Global BP) mode is adopted, and after the four groups A, B, C, and D determine the ranking within the group through a double round-robin BO3, the bottom two teams in each group will enter Group B, while the remaining 9 teams with the top ranking will enter Group A.

Dreadnought Draft: Heroes used by your team who have completed a match in the same round of BO3 will not be able to be reused.

The stage of the intra-group competition

After the two groups A and B complete the single-round robin BO3 in the group, the bottom 4 teams in Group B will directly prepare for the 2025 season, and the top 7 teams in Group A will lock up their playoff spots, and the top two will directly wear the repechage A.

The six teams in the middle (the bottom 2 from Group A and the top 4 from Group B) will move on to the next stage of the tie-breaker.

Grab the Spot Stage

In this stage, a competitive call-up model is adopted, and under the BO5 single-elimination system, 6 teams face off in pairs, life and death, to compete for the last 3 playoff tickets.

In the end, the top 10 teams will make a final impact on the LPL League championship trophy Silver Dragon Cup in the playoffs.
