At present, most of the sunscreen clothing on the market is woven from polyester fiber and elastic spandex, which is light and breathable, and has excellent UV resistance and quick-drying performance. Polyester and spandex, the main materials of sunscreen clothing, have some UV resistance, but to achieve UPF50+ results, they need to be finished with Texnology® UV PRO.

This benzotriazole-based finishing agent is non-toxic and non-irritating, free of phenols and heavy metals, and can achieve excellent UV resistance without affecting the original characteristics of the fabric, such as air permeability, and can also give the fabric a good infrared shielding and anti-discoloration effect.

2. Sweat absorption and quick-drying ability

Although sun-protective clothing is generally an outer coat style, it is also close to the skin on the arms and neckline. Therefore, an excellent sunscreen clothing should have the ability to absorb sweat and dry quickly, so as to prevent the body from being unable to evaporate quickly after sweating and produce a stuffy feeling.

This requires the use of Texnology®X23, which is chemically composed of polyether polyester compounds, which can give the fabric excellent hydrophilicity, which can make the less hygroscopic polyester fibers and spandex quickly absorb moisture and sweat, expand the wet area on the surface of the fabric, and then quickly evaporate moisture into the air, keeping the skin and sunscreen clothing dry.

3. Somatosensory cooling ability

In addition to the above two functions, high-quality sunscreen clothing also has a certain degree of temperature regulation ability, also known as cool finishing. There are many ways to achieve a cooling sensation, but using Texnology®COOL-TEX is a relatively easy to process and long-lasting way.

Texnology®COOL-TEX uses microencapsulation technology to encapsulate the PCM inside the capsule. PCMs absorb or release latent heat through state transitions to absorb heat when worn and release heat when idle, while microcapsules protect PCMs from external influences or losses. The two work together to achieve the long-lasting and washable cooling ability of sunscreen clothing.
