The 1913 September 13 Incident shocked the whole of China. Lin Biao was about to flee for leaking state secrets, and eventually crashed and died in Mongolia. The core of the incident, Chairman Mao's secret conversation during his southern tour, was leaked, all of which was done by Liu Feng, political commissar of the Wuhan Military Region. Liu Feng was born poor and has experienced hardships since his youth, but why did he choose to betray the revolution and divulge such an important secret? Liu Feng was born in 1915 in a financially poor farming family called Wu Yaotou in Mianchi County, Henan Province. Growing up in a poor family, in 1929, in order to survive, Liu Feng joined the local civilian armed group and began his military career. After a year of displacement and war, in 1930, he was incorporated into the 26th Route Army of the Northwest Army, thus beginning to receive formal military training and discipline education.
With the end of the Central Plains War in the 1930s, Liu Feng's unit was absorbed by the military forces of the Nationalist government, and he became a soldier in the National Revolutionary Army. The leakage of information quickly aroused Lin Biao's vigilance. Lin Biao had long been uneasy about his position in the party, and after learning the content of Chairman Mao's speech this time, he deeply felt that his political life was facing severe challenges. Then Lin Biao's son Lin Liguo was also involved in this turmoil, and the Lin family began to urgently plan a possible escape plan.
In the early morning of September 13, 1971, at Shanhaiguan Airport in Hebei Province, an aircraft marked Trident suddenly took off desperately, and airport personnel witnessed the sudden situation. After hovering in the air for a moment, the plane reversed course and flew rapidly in a northwesterly direction. The plane failed to reach its intended destination and crashed in the Öndörkhan region of Mongolia, leaving no one on board.
The plane carried key figures such as Lin Biao and his son Lin Liguo, who had planned to flee Chinese mainland to avoid the impending political reckoning. Because the plane crashed in the early hours of September 13, the incident was called the "913 Incident."
The "913 Incident" was not only a simple escape, but also reflected the fierce contradictions and struggles within China's top political leaders at that time. Lin Biao was originally at the heart of the political system. Due to many political disputes and an extreme thirst for power, Lin Biao gradually felt that his position was unstable, which also prompted him to make the decision to flee.

Liu Feng revealed such sensitive information to Li Zuopeng, a move that not only provided Lin Biao's faction with key strategic intelligence, but also made the situation take a turn for the worse. Liu Feng's actions clearly violated his duties as a political commissar, leading to his subsequent scrutiny and loss of personal freedom for 11 years. This punishment was largely self-inflicted, and from the point of view of justice, it was not unjust.
