Xian'an, the hometown of osmanthus in China, is a national forest city, with 543,400 mu of natural forests in the whole area, accounting for 41.18% of the total forest area. Since 2014, in addition to the national public welfare forest compensation, Xian'an District has invested tens of millions of yuan to distribute ecological red envelopes to natural forests for ten years, making green Xian'an a business card, making forest health care a fashion, and building a natural ecological park city in Wuhan metropolitan area with more confidence.

On April 18th, the reporter and his entourage greeted the bright spring light, smelled the fragrance of plants and trees, walked through the oxygen bar of the green natural forest, felt the drunken beauty and comfort of the green mountains, and listened to the simplicity and touching of the villagers to protect the green mountains.

Zhang Desheng, Group 8 of Ma'an Village, Tingsiqiao, was working at the edge of his own natural forest with green dripping green, reminding the villagers that it was forbidden to bring fire up the mountain, and at the same time holding a machete to clean up the bud grass and wild vines on the roadside.

"My family and our group of 300 acres of natural forest are very well protected, not only beautifying the village bay, purifying the air, but also ensuring the diversity of plants, most of which are thicker than the mouth of the bowl. Speaking of the achievements of natural forest protection, Zhang Desheng proudly compared.

Originally, Zhang Desheng's family had 50 acres of natural forest, with a national subsidy of 14 yuan per mu, a district-level subsidy of 80 yuan, and a subsidy of 4,700 yuan for 50 acres of natural forest. Like Zhang Desheng, villagers have a habit of protecting mountain forests, but now that the state and government have compensated, they are more motivated to protect natural forests.

In the 18th group of Guangdong Village, Xiangyanghu Town, the 265 acres of natural forest in Xiaozi Mountain are crisp and crisp, and the wild chrysanthemums are fragrant. Yang Bingwu, a 58-year-old team leader, is leading forest rangers to patrol the mountains to promote forest fire prevention and check the growth of trees.

"Every November, a 30-meter-wide firebreak is cut at the foot of the mountain, and the group-level rangers bang gongs and sound gongs in the village bay during the Qingming Festival to discourage villagers from using fire in the pits at the edge of their fields. Yang Bingwu said that if you see pine wood nematodes and other diseased trees, you should contact the local party committee and forestry department in time to ensure that the natural forest is safe and sound.

In 2014, Xian'an District implemented the "Decision of the Standing Committee of the Xian'an District People's Congress on the Establishment of a Natural Forest Protection Demonstration Zone", demarcating the district-level natural forest protection demonstration area of 20,000 mu, increasing to 30,000 mu in 2018 and 50,000 mu by 2020, accounting for 17% of the natural forest area in the district, covering 187 villager groups in 78 villages in 13 townships and towns in the district, increasing the protection fund from 1.6 million yuan in the district-level financial budget to 5 million yuan, and increasing the compensation standard from 50 yuan/mu to 80 yuan/mu.

Why spend huge sums of money to protect natural forests?

Before the implementation of the Decision, villagers used natural forests as firewood, and due to irrational development and lack of management, natural forests gradually became "scarred". With the continuous advancement of the "Decision", pieces of natural forests have greened the village bay, beautified the town, helped the ecological revitalization, and jointly created a harmonious and beautiful village.

"Compared with the temporary economic benefits of economic forests, the ecological, social and cultural benefits of natural forests are more comprehensive and long-term. Zheng Qiming, director of the Standing Committee of the District People's Congress, said that the ecological forest in front of the house and behind the house is not a plant in the general sense, but a collective nostalgic memory, a humanistic feeling, and a requirement for the development of forest health and building a natural ecological park city.

In the past ten years, Xian'an has implemented the protection of natural forest demonstration areas, which has considerable economic significance, and forest rights units and individual farmers have directly benefited. The social benefits are obvious, and the people's awareness of ecological environment and environmental protection is enhanced; The ecological benefits are obvious, the ecological function of the forest is effectively restored, the stability of the stand structure is enhanced, and the biodiversity is presented.

Nowadays, the green ecology is also constantly releasing ecological dividends, and the beautiful economic benefits are superimposed. The cherry blossom valley in Dongyuan Village, Damu Township, was one of the first to be included in the protection of natural forests, and now it has become an Internet celebrity check-in place for "flower viewing tours", and many villagers have eaten "tourist meals"; Chenjiagou in Xingzhuhai in Tingsiqiao Town has become a natural oxygen bar for leisure and entertainment; and Xiongjiawan in Hongwei has become a demonstration site for the integration of agriculture and tourism, with a considerable annual comprehensive income.

"Insist that the green mountains will not relax, treat the ecological environment like life, and take care of the natural forest like caring for the eyes. Qian Hua, director of the District Forestry Bureau, said that he will continue to strengthen publicity, protection, supervision and other measures to ensure forest safety, green flow, and superposition of ecological and economic benefits.
