Recently, the State Administration of Financial Supervision issued the Notice on Promoting the High-quality Development of New Energy Vehicle Insurance (Draft for Comments) to property insurance companies and other relevant parties, proposing new energy vehicle insurance development ideas from three aspects, including optimizing the supply mechanism of new energy vehicle insurance, improving the operation level of new energy vehicle insurance in the industry, and coordinating the promotion of various key tasks, with a total of 12 contents, many of which are related to premium pricing.
2. The China Quality Certification Center issued new regulations for electric vehicles
On April 1, the China Quality Certification Center issued the "Notice on the Implementation of the New Standards and Certification Rules for Electric Vehicle On-board Chargers, Cable Control and Protection Devices (IC-CPD) for Electric Vehicles and AC Charging Piles for Electric Vehicles" (hereinafter referred to as the "Notice"), aiming to further standardize the market order, improve the user experience, and promote the healthy development of the electric vehicle industry.
3. The new policy of the State Administration of Financial Supervision and Administration supports the Internet of Vehicles
On April 16, the State Administration of Financial Supervision and Administration, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the National Development and Reform Commission issued a notice on deepening financial services for the manufacturing industry to help promote new industrialization, focusing on supporting the optimization and upgrading of the industrial structure.

2. Changzhou will implement the country's first new energy industry promotion regulations
On April 17, the Standing Committee of the Changzhou Municipal People's Congress held a press conference to introduce the relevant content of the "Changzhou New Energy Industry Promotion Regulations". The regulation will come into force on June 1, 2024, and is the first new energy industry promotion regulation in the country. 1. The penetration rate of new energy passenger vehicles exceeded 50% for the first time
The latest data on the auto market released by the Passenger Car Market Joint Branch of the China Automobile Dealers Association from April 1 to 14: the wholesale and retail penetration rates of new energy vehicles in China both exceeded 50%.
According to the data, from April 1 to 14, the retail sales of the national passenger car market were 516,000 units, a year-on-year decrease of 11%, and the retail sales of the new energy vehicle market were 260,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 32%. The retail sales of new energy passenger vehicles accounted for 50.39% of the total, 534,000 passenger car manufacturers wholesaled, a year-on-year increase of 13%, and 268,000 new energy passenger vehicles were wholesaled, a year-on-year increase of 43%, accounting for 50.19%.
2. The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers released the latest automobile production and sales data
A few days ago, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers released the latest data showing that in March, domestic automobile production and sales were 2.687 million and 2.694 million respectively, an increase of 78.4% and 70.2% month-on-month, and a year-on-year increase of 4% and 9.9% respectively. In the first quarter of 2024, the total production and sales of automobiles reached 6.606 million units and 6.72 million units, an increase of 6.4% and 10.6% year-on-year, respectively, achieving a "good start" in the first quarter and a new high since 2019.
3. Remotely obtained the first VCS certification in the commercial vehicle industry
Recently, the green transportation capacity sharing platform of Yuanyuan New Energy Commercial Vehicle Group has obtained the VCS certification issued by Verra, an international authoritative carbon credit certification agency, and is also the first enterprise in the domestic transportation field to complete the certification and issue carbon emission reduction assets. Through this VCS project, Yuanyuan became the first company in the commercial vehicle field to issue carbon emission reductions, and it was also the first time that Geely Holding Group obtained international carbon emission reduction certification, and it was the first official carbon asset issued.
4. Chery goes to sea, and the Spanish market is about to open
China's Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. and Spain's Ebro Co., Ltd. held a signing ceremony for an electric vehicle cooperation agreement in the Barcelona Free Trade Zone in Spain on the 19th, and the two sides will set up a joint venture in the local area to jointly develop new electric vehicle products. According to the agreement, Ebro will take a controlling stake in the Ebro plant established by the two companies, and Chery will focus on cooperating with Chery in the field of electric vehicle technology to help develop new products. The joint venture plans to start production of electric vehicles in the fourth quarter of this year, expand its annual production capacity to 150,000 units by 2029, and create more than 1,200 local jobs.
