Harvard study: nearly half of cancers can be prevented, 3 ways to reduce the risk of cancer, one by one

The incidence of cancer is getting higher and higher, so that people are panicking, and when they are diagnosed with cancer, people seek medical advice everywhere to find a specific treatment for cancer, and even go bankrupt.

But the ideal is very plump, the reality is very skinny, because many people are diagnosed with cancer when it is already in the middle and advanced stages, so the treatment effect is also greatly reduced, and the biggest tragedy of cancer is to lead to the loss of people and money.

In fact, instead of waiting until cancer strikes, it's better to find ways to prevent cancer before it appears.

When it comes to prevention, many people shake their heads, "Doctor, can cancer still be prevented?" You see that many people are so cautious, should they still have cancer?

The mechanism of cancer is very complex, including genetics, diet, living environment, exercise, aging, staying up late, etc., all of which may be involved in the onset of cancer, and some people may have taken certain preventive measures, but eventually suffer from cancer, but does this mean that cancer must not be prevented?

Of course not.

Researchers from the University of Zurich in Switzerland and Harvard University in the United States conducted a study that found that through high doses of vitamin D, high doses of Omega-3 fatty acids and simple strength exercises, these three ways can reduce the risk of cancer by 61% in people over 70 years old.

The researchers randomly divided 2,157 healthy people with an average age of 74.9 years into eight groups for three years to test the preventive effects of vitamin D, omega-3 fatty acids, and strength exercise.

The results showed that all three methods were beneficial in terms of the risk of aggressive cancer, and if used together, the risk of cancer could be reduced by 61% overall.

From this Harvard study, we can see that even 70-year-olds are effective in preventing cancer, let alone those who have been actively preventing cancer since their youth.

So, let's take a look at these three ways to prevent cancer.

1. Supplement vitamin D

Vitamin D is a cyclopentane polyhydrophenanthrene compound, whose main functions are to promote the absorption of calcium and phosphorus by small intestinal mucosal cells, promote the renewal of calcium salts and new bone formation, promote the reabsorption of calcium and phosphorus by renal tubular cells, promote the growth of skin cells, and regulate immune function. Vitamin D deficiency can lead to rickets and osteomalacia.

In real life, many people don't pay attention to vitamin D supplementation, they may pay more attention to vitamin B and vitamin C supplementation, and as you get older, you will find that the role of vitamin D is crucial.

There are two sources of vitamin D supplementation, the first source is sunbathing, so why many long-lived elderly people like to bask in the sun, the reason is that sun exposure promotes the synthesis of vitamin D, and the other source is dietary supplements, many foods are rich in vitamin D, such as various egg yolks, whole milk, fatty fish, such as salmon, salmon, herring, tuna, eel, sardines, catfish, etc.

2. Supplement Omega-3 fatty acids

Omega-3 fatty acids are a class of polyunsaturated fatty acids that are very important for human health. They mainly include three types: α-linolenic acid (ALA), eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). Among them, ALA is an essential fatty acid that cannot be synthesized by the human body and cannot be converted from other fatty acids, mainly found in vegetable oils, such as perilla seed oil, flaxseed oil, etc. EPA and DHA are conditionally essential fatty acids found mainly in fish oil and marine organisms.

Omega-3 fatty acids are essential for maintaining vascular health because omega-3 fatty acids are unsaturated fatty acids that lower LDL and increase HDL.

As we all know, with the growth of age, the elderly are particularly prone to cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, which are also known as the killers of the elderly.

3. Perform strength exercises

It is said that life lies in exercise, and for the elderly, exercise is also very important, exercise can promote blood circulation, prevent blood clots, reduce muscle loss, and enhance immunity.

If an elderly person is unable to exercise, such as being paralyzed in bed, then after a long time, various complications are easy to find, including blood clots, bedsores, muscle atrophy, joint stiffness, pneumonia, etc.

Why do many elderly people insist on exercising even when they are older, because they know very well that the more they don't exercise, the more they can't move for a long time.
